African Satellite World and Sat Gear

yep! FX it be.

The same channel transmits on Nilesat 102 also gear one....you need a 240cm dish to nab them

The near future 102 will be decomissioned and the channels migrate to at Nilesat 201,Eutelsat 7 West A or Eutelsat 8 West C

Hoping it will be soon....

I had been trying to get this FX and Gear One on my 180cm PF dish with little success. This info explains a lot. Thannks for the eye opener

Confirm your satellite settings on the decorder that all LNBs are set correctly on either disec 1.0 or 1.1. If the setting is on OFF a channel tends to disappear especially if its port is not on LNB 1. I had a similar predicament, though not that extreme.

If the problem is with all sats, then try and change the cable from decoder to switch

I got me a problem. I
have serious signal issues. One moment i am watching a channel with a
90% signal quality, the next moment i get that annoying 'no signal'
banner. A quick look through all channels indicate all red. I try this
on the strong and the fluctuation of signal is apparent too. I suspected
the diseqc switch and bought a new Eurostar but the problem still
persists. It is worse on the Humax. I have to switch it off for a minute
then on and the pictures come on; sometimes for a minute, 5mins or even
1hr. Change channel and the no signal sign appears.....and the cycle
continues... I need urgent help.

I vote for faulty cable. especially the one from the diseq switch to the decoder/receiver. I would also look at the receiver itself. You might either have a not-so-tight/good connection at one or both f-connectors or the receiver is failing(not providing the requisite 12V/18V22V? for the lnb-diseq swtch) intermittently. rule out the latter by swapping receivers for a while and see if problem is still there. else invest in a new cable with new f-connectors

If it was on saturday afte then its me, but these guys are selling these dvb s almost like hd decoders 3500 is on the higher side so i didnt buy,the best deal i got was 3100 from a shop on the opposite side of beeps behind spikes, the name i cant recall juu ya hasira kupanda.

Just
hooked someone with Big Brothers setup. The crazy thing is that the guy
had the dish already installed and after numerous failed attempts to
nail 36B, he called me at 7pm. With the technosat t888 and number 10
spanner, I never lasted 5 min to nail the sat. This guy thought he saved
on installation cost, but the joke is on you buddy, from today you will
have to pay monthly installments.

If thats not worse, if you fail to pay you will be regarded as a bad
creditor (seriously you are in the system now) and the loans will not
come your way in a few years. If you remember you used your ID card
number to buy the decoder, the same number you opened your Bank
accounts with.

Since you tried to save money on installation costs, there is no way you will keep up with BB's dollar charges.

Right now I am eating Nyama with Ugali (from the money you paid me with)
and watching this movie ''A little Trip to Heaven'' starring Forest
Whitaker on Dubai One, completely free of charge. Long live fta

The rich man sits smoking his cigar, and jeers at God/fate. :nono: Don't!

I beg to differ, DSThieVes service is prepaid and there is noone who watches BB on credit hence theres no way the CRB can have your details from them. Due date yako ikifika unakatiwa mara moja, hupewi ata second moja eti wawe wanakudai. Lakini ebu kosa kulipa mswali uoone, you are back listed by all banks.

Travelled through Loitokitok into Tanzania and back to Kenya through Holili to avoid the Kenyan bad roads. There's serious ASAS in this part of the continent. I saw several PF dishes having upto 4 LNBs. Didn't have the guts to photo people's roofs but the spirit of FTA reigns here. I am so tempted to look for an Azam decoder but the challenge will be in renewing the subscription.

If u can trust me I will always be there to subscribe for u whenever u need the service. ASAS is not only a disease but also a religion. "HELP UR ASAS NEIGHBOURS AS U WOULD LIKE THEM TO HELP U"

Great! Where can one obtain the Azam decoder? I was in Arusha two weeks ago but could not find the decoder; the dealer there told me their stock had run out and were waiting to be supplied from their main office.

Am in Nairobi.

That was very unfortunate of u. it is very seldom to find the azam decoders out of stock. Anyway I reside in Morogoro, I seldom pay visits to Arusha. At my end here the decoders are consistently available.

This morning I was shocked at the wastage of 1.8 pf dishes I saw on a certain roof. It made me sick to see those dishes left to rust yet there are ASAS victims on this forum who would go at great lengths to acquire them.

Too bad CHIEF! Anyway thats a true battered dish. My verdict:CONDEMNED!! The elements have taken a great toll on it and it cannot be salvaged.
