Does it mean that there is a Ku-Band Sub-Saharan African beam on Express-AM22 at 53 East? Could it possibly be that you are receiving from Southern beam of Yamal 402 at 54.9 East? Check: http://www.lyngsat.com/Yamal-402.html and the beam maps below.
Hi, am a newbie inspired by this forum. I have been using technosat t-888 and recently I acquired srt 4922 stb. I tried nabing eutelsat 10a last week but only managed sayare TV which I lost yesterday. Today I tried to restore unsuccessfully, but I managed eutelsat 7w/8w but how have you guys been watching movies on mbc coz what I got is scrambled channels
I give you the SAT searcher of the sky. You persistence on Kenya Mux Search is quite a lesson onpatience:smile-big:Any updates on kenyan mux other than 62'E and nss12....?
Thankyou techdee. I also have the same setup as you did before. Receiving 7w and 8w on the main lnb and 5e on the other lnb fixed on the arm. 5e signals are poor though.
I have tried searching for the HIGHLANDS PATRON photos but i have not found them yet, i continue with my search but if you can point me to a page or period it will be of much help.
Btw, are you receiving 5e and 7e on one lnb? Location?
Thank you.😛eace:
That was my thought exactment! we are back to proprietary stb's: freeview, openview, gotv, dstv..:nono: and the list goes on. What i want is a box with a fairly common processor/chip so that i can diddle it every each way. The best one i have seen so ar is that castelnet from zuku. the one in a "combact brown box":biggrin1: ,even if all it can do is a blind scan. What good is a diseq switch if all it can do is connect to one satellite, one transponder, one frequency?:brick:Someone point me to Jacob's Cross FTA. It is the only decent entertainment from SA, far as i am concerned.:shut-mouth:

Good Afternoon emboko,
The one place you cure your addiction of Jacob's Cross FTA on Satellite is Measat 3 @91.5°E, frequency 3920 V DVB-S2 SR 29720.
Channel name, The Africa Channel
The Africa Channel offers premier general entertainment from award winning content inspired by Africa.
Jacob's Cross is televised weekdays at 6 pm and a repeat of the drama at 10 pm plus other timings during the day.
On Sundays you can caught up with the weeks rerun of Jacobs Cross from 11 am till 4 pm (5 Hours of Jacob's Cross if have the stamina)
To nab Measat 3 C-Band you require a 2.4 prime focus dish plus Eurostar Esdt 700 C-Band LNB,
Hope the snap shots will trigger your asas to the max.
I am also an addicted of SA programming ranging from music (Gospel/Afro Jazz), Movies, Drama, Wildlife, Reality +++++
Best ongoing dramas for me are Scandal and Rhythm city.
Have followed both dramas from ETV SA before the changed their encryption to Nagr* 3, while on Intelsat 7,
When Etv Africa poped up on NTV 2nd terrestrial frequency i followed the drama.
NTV 2nd terrestrial frequency was later re branded to QTV and the game was over.
I got a new lease of life on One Africa TV on intelsat 906 and The Africa Channel on Measat 3.
Have been enjoying Scandal and Rhythm city on NBC TV (Intelsat 10-02) and also on ETV Ghana (Multi Tv FTA Astra 2F)
Now enjoying both dramas on Etv HD on Openview Hd, SES 5
So that the direction to Jacob's Cross.
Happy Viewing😛hoto:
Hi guys. Now that GUEST CHANNEL ses5 is hosting Nat Geo Gold albeit for a month, this simple sat-combo may interest some of you. I've been using it for more than one year. Dish size 60cm(formerly Gtv's). Main lnb locked to Amos5 whilst the top lnb is dedicated to ses5. Please not that signal Quality is at its maximum best for both sats.
Both lnbs have been enjoned with weaved alluminium wires( ile ya stima). I lykd them coz they are easy to play with, firm, rust free(unlike binding wires) and in my case avilable. Besides, unaweza kureplace main lnb w/o affecting top lnb.
Check out dz photos. Thx.

Here is the famous picture(s) from highlands patron and l am also receiving 5E and 7E on one LNB. The one on the very top. What amazes me from this setup is that the signal strength's are very high with the signal qualities being equally stable. Its like each LNB has its own dish. What do you usually look for when buying an Lnb. This will surely help the newbies who follow this forum from a distant.
By the way kungu1 where did you get that technosat decoder. I am in need of one.
Good Afternoon ngetz_kip,
The MBC HD scrambled channels you got are on Eutelsat 7 West A frequency 12188 H DVB-S2 Sr 27500.
To access the HD version of the MBC channels you require either pay package AD sports or MBC HD technosat T786 receiver or MY-HD pay package.
Am access the MBC HD channels via MBC HD Technosat T786 receiver + Ad Sports receiver..
The next bunch of MBC channels are on Eutelsat 7 West A, frequency 12322 V DVB-S Sr 27500.
currently on the channels, blank test card with info regarding MBC Masr channels migration to Eutelsat 8 West A
The MBC channels you are looking for are on Eutelsat 8 West A @ 8° West,frequency 11471 V DVB-S SR 27500.
Eutelsat 8 West A is slightly below Eutelsat 7 West A by about 1 degree.
Depending on your location in Kenya, i would advise you to use a 1.2 meter offset dish in Nairobi as the signal strength of the sat is slightly low because of the sat's footprint.
Sorry for taking every one back.

@Spiggzi, check page 281 post#5619. @ Highands, how long is the aluminium 'connector'? I believe the length would also work on a 90 cm? asas, can 8W be added to this sat combo of 17e and 5e?

Hi Dejumbo,Hello edson
You stand a better chance of getting Digiturk goodies if you use at least 240cm PF dish (8ft) here in Kampala.
I am currently using the same size plus INVERTO Black LNB with very satisfying results on all channels including
tp 11618 V but come rain and only the BBC, CNN will remain. A good number of my friends are also using the same
size dish (240cm) with Fuji Stargold LNB for PF dishes with good results. Their biggest problem is tp 11618 V and 11534 V which show only in the morning up to around 6pm and then starts crackling very badly.
I am waiting to receive a 180cm (6ft) offset dish from China with its own factory approved LNB plus funnel type feedhorn (scallar). With this I hope not only to nail Digiturk channels with improved quality but also use the same dish to get all the Nilesats.
What make is your SD receiver? Please note that the good channels (scrambled) can only be received using certain patched receivers like SRT 4922 and 4950. Also Technomate TM 6900 and 7100 series receivers plus some Dreamboxes.
