African Satellite World and Sat Gear

African Satellite World and Sat Gear

I have come accross my first case of a fake SRT 4922 here in Kampala.
I was helping a friend to track Eutelsat 7A @ 7° East for the Digiturk goodies when I noticed that
his decoder could not open them even after updating the firmware. Later the decoder refused to
boot completely though it keeps showing some lights. It was bought from a shop on Market street
here in Kampala. The "lady" who sold it to my friend refused to take it back in exchange for a working
one and even refused to allow us do a decoder to decoder software transfer to ressurect the dying / dead
decoder.
If you are in Kampala try to avoid this shop. The shop is on Market street opposite Energy centre building.
It has no clear name but there are several traders in it each selling different electric / electronic goods.
This woman (name withheld but begins with a P****) is fat in the real sence of the word and looks like
most typical fat businesswomen in Kampala.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!
Hello dejumbo

Roger that and thank you for alerting us! P****'s behaviour for me is typical of a good number of sat shop merchants in Kampala.
And since you were pursuing D***turk, it intrigues me to ask if you think/feel I stand any chance of nailing these goodies with a 130cm offset in K'la or if you've had success with a dish this small. I've tried to get Tps from the Europe B beam and only managed the BBC Persia Tp (very stable and doesn't crack day and night). My STB is SD and not an SRT, so my signal strength-quality values may be misleading. 28% signal quality is enough for channels to work on this stb and I get 39 to 42 % on this Tp, which is the same signal range values I get on etv (SES 5) feeds when they are weakest. I am starting to question this STB's tuner sensitivity. I'll more than appreciate any input on this.

someone pls help me with the page where srt 4922 genuine features is am using a phone and its taking lots of time page by page i need to post to a friend b4 he buys one

At first boot up while hooked to a tv, a number is displayed which you feed onto their website to authenticate.

Welcome to the village. In here you'll find doctors who'll hopefully treat you before your ASAS becomes chronic. I'll go first: for the MBC package, you'll have to re-orient your equipment towards Eutelsat 8 West A, 11471v.

Eutelsat 8 West A at 8.0°W - LyngSat

Thank you, for the info. Sorry for the late reply. Was away from the setup. Managed to nab the mbc on 8w but lost all of 7w. Thinking of getting 8ft prime focus for 7e and chance on the europe b.

Thanks for the warning. That is the way to go:A S thumbs_up:. Do not let fellow enthusiasts or indeed any other consumer get fleeced. You ask for a fair price as a trader and we pay it. but do not sell counterfeit substandard goods that you do not want to put your name on:lying:. You should even have named her(patricia/pamela/prisca/piss-pot). Name and shame them all!:redfaces::redfaces::redfaces:

At jamiiforums, the tagline is 'we dare talk openly'. I support emboko
name her and if possible take a photo of the shop and upload it here
too. This will help newbies in Kampala from being conned.

Hello edson
You stand a better chance of getting Digiturk goodies if you use at least 240cm PF dish (8ft) here in Kampala.
I am currently using the same size plus INVERTO Black LNB with very satisfying results on all channels including
tp 11618 V but come rain and only the BBC, CNN will remain. A good number of my friends are also using the same
size dish (240cm) with Fuji Stargold LNB for PF dishes with good results. Their biggest problem is tp 11618 V and 11534 V which show only in the morning up to around 6pm and then starts crackling very badly.
I am waiting to receive a 180cm (6ft) offset dish from China with its own factory approved LNB plus funnel type feedhorn (scallar). With this I hope not only to nail Digiturk channels with improved quality but also use the same dish to get all the Nilesats.
What make is your SD receiver? Please note that the good channels (scrambled) can only be received using certain patched receivers like SRT 4922 and 4950. Also Technomate TM 6900 and 7100 series receivers plus some Dreamboxes.

No rem this is a vsat ofset dish which's offset angle is greater than that of a normal sat dish (34 vs 23) view sat teleport is at intelsat 906

Mtuko2, the technician confirmed to me it is facing 68.5E and not IS906 as you say

Okay guys but I think I let the cat out of the bag by mentioning the first letter of her name. Most forum members in Kampala know her already. Those upcountry can PM me for the name and shop location. For the time being lets call her "Miss Piss Pot" as suggested by Emboko. LOL !!!!!

For the BeIN decoder it comes married to the card, and an annual subscription....22k, but saa hii am not sure coz of the season is coming to an end, and there is the world cup, and it is likely that any decoder will have to come with the annual subscription...so it is a bit higher. About that guy who is selling the AD Sport Card, he has been noted and shamed in other forums as a conman. Take Care Hapa Jamii, guys are really honest, sincere and they are willing to help people out. for more input and better advice it is better to state your location.

By the way, as per your other lost MBC channels, if you go back to prior listings on these forums you will see that MBC changed their transponders, to 11470. Pia, the birds' (satellites) that you can nab, you can get more information by reading previous listings.....ama just start from page 1, we all did..:suspicious:.

Relaax...hapa uko nyumbani....soo much more :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:for free (or at least a very very good price)
Thanks so much. I am in Rongai, Nairobi (?). Provide more assistance to the curious newbie.

How come I can't get local channels in Nairobi,Kenya on NSS 12, 90cm Eurostar? I am getting 98% religious channels from West Africa and one, JCC TV from Mombasa. Of course I am getting Press TV but of 155 channels, none has local mainstream stations such as KTN, NTV and Citizen?

The many channels you are quoting are on Intelsat 20 and not NSS 12. The only kenyan channel u can get on nss12 is K24 only plus many local radio stations. As 4 the kenyan mux on one sat, can anyone alert us where the planning has reached and possibly launch date.

Deal gone sour, terminated before dawn or what? Wakilongo.
