African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Hi sat friends, just from riwira, inverto Black 1800 no Samson, need help locating any other shop with above lnb's @ pocket friendly price, 0723500218
Hi jokheny. I bought a Samson Twin (a genuine one with the word SAMSON engraved) at Space Electronics-Mombasa about two weeks ago. It was priced at KSh. 1200, but managed to get it at Ksh. 1000. It works pretty fine. Pity I cannot remember the street name since I don't live in the town and was just visiting with friends, but it is in the Mwembe Tayari neighbourhood- I guess Mirjangi and other forum members who are familiar with the town could assist with directions. The shop contact is 0713004405- you might want to call to confirm availability first

U can also have amos 5@17 just below ur primary lnb ses5/7e nd enjoy some ting package, i've ds setting here in mombasa

I think you should motorize your dish with an HH ku motor and your problems will be over.Simply that

Hi, am a newbie inspired by this forum. I have been using technosat t-888 and recently I acquired srt 4922 stb. I tried nabing eutelsat 10a last week but only managed sayare TV which I lost yesterday. Today I tried to restore unsuccessfully, but I managed eutelsat 7w/8w but how have you guys been watching movies on mbc coz what I got is scrambled channels

Hello sat community.

First off, much thanks to all for all the information shared. You have increased my knowledge immensely.

Next, I got a question relating to dishes. I intend to nab 7A at 7E for the Europe-B footprint and is currently looking for a shop to buy a 1.5m offset. My preliminary enquiries have shown the maximum most shops that stock sat gear have is 130cm, which I already own but is yet to deploy. Is anybody in the house in the know of where I can get 1.5m and above? Or might I stand a chance with 130cm given my location (Kisumu)?

Now I am even more confused. According to Strong site, there are 3 versions of SRT 4950 i.e. 4950, 4950H, & 4950M.
Which is the older model you are talking about?

The SRT 4922 you were thinking of reluctantly buying!

Bra.kop, its possible to get ses 5,7e not too sure...the second lnb will be on the arm as the 7w will be primary lnb

A pictorial would be nice. These set-ups are very confusing, geometrically. Which one is primary and which one goes on the arm:confused2:

I have tried such a setup placing a secondary lnb on the arm below the primary one and it worked. But lnbs placed o the arm usually have very low signal strengths. My advice is that you first of all lock the dish on 5E, this will recieve 7E too after some tweaking. After this hang the 7W Lnb on top using some aluminium wires, this setup will give you much better signal strengths on all satellites.

Now this sounds more sound, geometrically. Thanks for the clarification.

Hi kungu? is it a must to use. SAMSOM LNB with a 1.8m prime focus to nab Nilesat or Eutelsat?tried with startrack n eurostar n it only nab one of the two birds

Use a proper prime-focus Ku-band LNB like Stargold Fuji SG-940 (Quad output) or Stargold Fuji SG-900 (Single output). I've put up the pics in an earlier posting.

Where do you get these motors? How much do they cost? will they adapt to our various dishes or do you have to buy a completely new kit and toss out all the old ones that made your heart race when you thought of them? For some of us, it is the challenge that drives us.:msela: very soon we will be back setting up more dishes and pistorius arms(legs?) o n them, hunting more sats. Old habits die hard.

What you landed on is the subscription-only HD transmission at 7W location. Look out for the exact tp of the non-encrypted SD transmission at 8W here:

Eutelsat 8 West A at 8.0°W - LyngSat

MBC is not scrambled. Maybe you should not only do that blind csan ,but also tell your stb to only catch FTA. If by scrambled you mean the one with drawings and a red band across the screen, that is on 7W and is the one that we migrated from. The new one is on 8W freq,11470,S/R 27500 polarity V.

some more english movie s and documentaries can be had on Bahrain Tv 11791, 27500, V . The Bahrainis have several transponders an that satellite. check them all out

They're called H-H motors and look something like this:

If you scour some of the earlier postings, one forum member had informed us that they were on sale somewhere in Mombasa.

Now I understand why str4922 is praised highly. For the first time I got MBC HD and Bein sport . Finally an convinced to get a 130cm and try out digiturk.

I don't know about Kenya, but in Zambia they are plenty. You don't need a new set of dish but the very one you are using. It will rotate from 45w to 80e and nab all satellites within your footprint area. Any Ku receivable bird will be nabbed without you having a garden of dishes in your backyard.

The power to watch 19 satellites lies in your remote control via usals or diseque 1.2
