Any suggestion(s) for where one can catch F1 on FTA?

Good ol'days when we used to watch F1 FTA on Abudhabi Sports last season.....after the rights swung to B***IN sports now its hard for us FTA guys like us to get it....the nearest sat to nab F1 FTA is Hot Bird with the channels like Rai1,aRai2,Rai Sports1,Rai Sports2 also Eutelsat 5W hosting the same channels...a BUD is needed 3.0M onwards...happy hunting

Aaah, now I see. Well, the Lnb is between 1500-2500(downtown luthuli) around Riwara Electronics but nowadays wanaongeza bei sana, the neighbouring shops have them. But even before you get there, the problem lies in the 7w. Its either you strike the 1 mm balance between the 7W and 8w, or sacrifice one for the other. or simply buy another dish :thinking:, or you can mechanise the arm of your dish and add the LNb. Personally, my beIN decoder came married with the card, I do those annual payments and voila, HD EPL, na sasa wameniambia ati 4K WorldCup:redface:,

Hata mimi wameniambia i add 50 usd for world cup. My dealer says i pay 2k per month for bein full package if i pay 1 year advance. That is 24k. Anyway, am not interested in 8w now, planning to get me an admc sports decoder to nab mbcs plus more on hd for 3500 a year. Wish there was a decoder that could combine both bein and admc.

mtuko2 is right the receiver I installed was an MPEG2 DiSEqC 1.0 receiver and its no use buying a DVBS receiver nowadays even if it is cheap.. Apart from that everything else was fine. shem02 when I get a good price on a HD receiver I will alert you or if you want the DVBS receiver just tell me.

rejimeny jey is also right, the guys at Luthuli are extorting us.

By the way has anyone received or bought an Open View Receiver from South Africa lately?

I guess that's what one deserves for being an F1 "addict" who lives in E.Africa. I missed the 1st two races of the season but then got a CS capable stb from a friend; watched the Bahrain GP on BeIN through CC**M and this aroused my "addiction". I sometimes feel "insulted" when I go to a pub to watch a soccer game since am used to watching most sporting events at the comfort of my room - thanks to FTA! Tomorrow"s Chinese GP is early in the morning, so my last option is defunct.
I used to watch the F1 on the Rai channels (from Italy) and other channels from Germany and Swiss - all FTA. Do you receive the Rai channels at your location with a 3M dish?

Talk of me being more of a fanatic than a fan 🙂 I watched all races of last season....am receiving Rai1 on D***gturk package bt by their shedule al get to watch the Canadian race bt cnt wait tht long....cc*am for the rescue....our Nigerian & Ghanaian brothers are receiving Hot Bird with dishes small as 2.4M and we are 6° to their south so with a 3M dish onwards am sure we may pull down some signals in E.Africa!

I tried today to nab 8w n I wasn't successful wth my 90cm dish but I wanted to know..if I align my 180cm prime using a ku lnb will I be lucky enuf to nab nilesat 201..n get CNN,BBC,DUBAI one,MTV.. Or eutelsat 8w?I'm in Nairobi East lands

Try nab 7w nilesat fox movies tp with the 90 cm, maximize, then try nab 8w on 11471 V 27500, just change dish elevation(move dish up or downwards) for about 1 cm or less from that of nilesat and you will have 8 W, mbcs and aljazeeras. I am using a 90 cm and it works. All the best

Try and remove the HDMI cable and use the RCA cable instead if problem still there and its still in warranty then return it where you bought
it. Out of warranty? then open it up and clean the PCB board using Dry
cleaner maybe the problem is just rust build up on the processors legs.

manze hata kama ni kutafuta 18-20K is exorbitant.

Its all abt the taxes hapa... I tried importing a decoder to evade the luthuli wolves but KRA took more than half its price. Hawataki kujua hata kama its labelled as a gift, wataongeza import duty, VAT etc

How can I get MBC channels on nilesat set up? They have left frequency 12322 on eutelsat 7 West A. Tried to add TP 1471 for MBC channels on uetelsat 8 West A but no signal. tried to add TP 1559 as indicated on the MBC channels on eutelsat 7 West A but still no signal. Can my setup connect to both eutelsat 7 West A and utelsat 8 west A?
