Congrats. Salimia mama watoto..

Good question. Perhaps its allowed to do that if you are the first to introduce that technology on a continent where everyone else is using terrestrial analog transmission.

Someone should trademark FTA then. Being the first to introduce free satellite television in a continent where everyone is paying for TV.

Safi! Niko njiani kujipatia moja in a month or two! Freq usinipe lecture ya actuators. Hehehehe.

Sure bro!
I'm glad with my 2 6ft dishes that gives me 68.5 and 76.5 to the fullest. Unless an 8ft dish give me asiasat7 I'm still satisfied with those.

LLR what a quick change of mind about owning an 8ft! 😁😁

About Actuators

By the way fixing an 8ft on a single sat is underutilizing it way below its full potential. If you can motorize it please do.

Kkkkkkkk See! I knew the moment I hit on 8ft the actuator passionate guru would warmly welcome me!

Man I have 3 6ft dishes and its like I'm still feeling something dangling in me when I see tps that I know there is something in there that won't appear no matter what!
I'm throwing a towel, an 8ft all the way, I guess this time I'll have to zip up my big mouth so you won't prove me wrong again hehehe!

Hahaha... got ya..! The internet never forgets.

I'll be glad to welcome you to the 8ft club... and the Actuator club too in the future..

i want to fully utilise my 8ft ... motorizing it is the next step ....... soon

Try it on different sats eg 91.5e, 78e, 76.5e, 68.5e 64e, 57e 66e and so forth.

See if you need to change azimuth while moving from one sat to another. If azimuth must be changed at your location, it'll be tricky.. you may need to fabricate a new pole mount.

If you move between those sats by simply changing elevation (if you are near enough to the equator), hoooray! All you'll need is to fix the actuator on the elevation mount to do the elevation changing for you.

Are those rocks enough for anchoring your dish... Remember the surface are is large and gust of wind can topple it.... God forbid !

Congratulations for the effort now point the lnb to the middle of the dish. Also measure the distance from center of dish to start of scalar it should be 92cm or thereabouts. You should also set the correct skew. 8ft should give you all important tps.

With dee-es-dee-vee among its ranks,NigComSat has become among the fattest sheep in the FTA pen(as per my preferences)-with animal docs, kids channels and news, all fully FTA and mostly English channels.I can only salivate...

The focal distance however depends on the curvature profile of the dish that may vary from brand to brand.

It's longer on flatter dishes and shorter on deeper dishes. There's no one-distance-fits-all
All dishes unless own fabrication try to get the standard settings used by most manufacturers, f/d ratio, curvature, focal length, signal gain, sheet gauge thus i gave the measurements. 8ft focal length is usually around 90-92cm for manufactured dishes.

Let's hope so.

And if all manufacturers (including the one who made this particular one), use same correct ratios then there'd be no need to adjust.

User assembly also affects efficiency alot.
