African Satellite World and Sat Gear

African Satellite World and Sat Gear

This is what Iam taking about I have been in satellite installation for quite long time and my place is in west africa
Wow! I suppose that works best on a BUD with 4 arms. On a 1.8m with 3 arms that would require, as you say, "a West African" to centralise on the dish and align the three lnbs to the dish line of movement.

Even TBC 1 will show it. Kwa lugha yetu tunayoipenda . Bureeee. Eastern arc is very fertile.
Hope they are serious this time.
TBC 1 disappointed us previous worldcup.
Whenever there was a political event involving the President, or any prominent public figure, they shifted world cup broadcasting to TBC 2 which is not available for free, but only to subscribers of Azam and Star times.
Hope this time they are serious about it.

better your tbc. Our own kenyan KBC has fallen to corrupt pay tv cartels who won't let it show it for their selfish commercial gain.

Get an 8ft. If possible two of them. 1 8ft is equivalent to 3 6fts especially if you're into parasiting.
On all satellite dishes any parasite lnb beyond 18deg is rarely possible unless the beam is very strong. Unless you increase dish size by up to 50%. As you move from primary lnb signal deteriorates by upto 50% this is because you have decreased available plane for illumination.
Unless we can find a way to fabricate our BUDs most big dishes will still remain a mirage.

You deserve a standing ovation. Only needs an adjustment to accommodate a Ku band lnb.

I admire your ingenuity and envy your setup. Can you please update us on what sats you are locking in your arc. Also being in WA have you ever tried 28E UK ?

While still there. That "hole" is denying you a lot of important signal, i would rather you run your cable by the lnb arm and fill it. As you know even 1% is a difference between enjoying and missing a channel.

I wonder why Africa has to import dishes while we can produce steel and paint. The science of curving a piece of metal to a specific shape how difficult is it that Africans cannot master it and mass produce? Maybe it's just that there is no ready market to justify investment.

The Jamiiforums app seems to be misbehaving, it is erratically refusing to post or load. Last week it refused to start i had to re install.
Log onto it on computer and accept the website's updated terms of use. It will be back to normal. I had the same issue too three weeks back

Well my setup is Thaicom 78e to 34w with three lnb two c band and one ku band one circular and the other is linear connected to a four way disqc switch.I have not had the 28e uk but an lnstaller in Accra Ghana once told me he had in Accra and I have all I can but didnt get it,Iam in the northern part of Ghana,I can get 30w which is a fringe beam, Europe D beam.i join this forum simple because of fringe beams which our m8 kungu1 was interested.

We don't think beyond the box. But also the government doesn't encourage export production, try out and you will see how they will be the impediment.

A true honour to have you here. Which Lnb is the Ku band ?

You are right, i tried to remove it once, and i had 3-4 % decrease in signal, so i placed it back.

You know Freq, as awful as it sounds. We have a big problem in Africa! We are quick to jump in any bandwagon that seems yo be the talk of the time.
If they have to mass produce, then offset dishes will give them their return but not BUDS.

An empirical example is here in TZ, majority have been misguided that BUDS are obsolete (hayo madish ya zamani) as they say.
When a local manufacturer with an idea like yours wish to come into play, finds that almost all sat TV providers have contract with satboxes manufacutures which also includes the supply of offset dishes and lnb.
And you can't tell Azam customer to have a universal offset dish.

The liberated few are not enough to make returns unless massive lobbying has to take effect.
