Are presidential candidates legally required to show their tax returns?

Not really but for a man espousing his great wealth and his business acumen at every opportunity being transparent when it comes to his wealth would almost be necessary at this time.

Besides isn't there some 40 year record of candidates releasing their tax returns albeit not mandated by law

The moderator of this debate is weak. He is letting so much bullshit go unchecked its criminal.
He really could have pushed Trump on his tax returns because the IRS made it clear that there is no reason as to why he should not be releasing his returns
