Kikwete afanye nini Kuuokoa Urais wake?

He is dealing with them. Day and night. That is leadership!

Jasusi:

Heshima mkuu. Sisi mafundi tuna kitu tunaita toolbox. Bila kuwa na zana fundi yoyote is good as any prehistoric human being.

It’s time for Obama to stop blaming Bush for the economy

Is there a statute of limitations on the blame game?

We have to wonder as President Barack Obama continues to harp on addressing the shortcomings of his administration’s recession recovery as being a big mess to clean up from the Bush administration.

The president and his administration are correct that they inherited a huge economic issue. And, they were not responsible for the first stimulus package – although they were consulted because of Obama’s nomination as the Democratic contender for president.

And, to be truthful, while the Bush administration is certainly at fault for high deficit spending, it was the failure of congressional oversight of the financial and housing industries that started the recession ball rolling. So, there is plenty of blame to go around.

But, at what point does the blame game go away and accountability of the new administration start taking place? At what point does the Obama administration start being accountable for the way the stimulus money hasn’t worked the way they thought it would?

Our economy is fragile right now. There is no denying it, and the president and Democratic congress have tried to address it with a major stimulus package that was supposed to save and create jobs and get “shovel-ready” projects going immediately. But, about the only victory the White House can point to is 250,000 education jobs were saved. A mere 30,000 private-sector jobs have been created, supposedly from some of these projects the stimulus was supposed to fund.

The president can’t blame the fact so few jobs have been created on the previous Bush administration. That’s all on Obama’s shoulders. The president says job creation is his first priority, but the only thing he and congressional leaders seem to care about is a high-stakes, high-cost health reform plan that actually will burden the economy even more.

Only political protagonists really care about blame. Blame’s only use is for political gain. The people of this country care about actual recovery and job creation.

“It’s the economy, stupid,” was a ringing phrase used by the Clinton administration, and it got the nation’s attention.

The economy and job creation – above health care reform and global warming mandates – should rise to the top again as this administration’s first priority.

More of blaming Bush

When should Pres. Obama stop blaming the Bush administration?
Posted: 05:00 PM ET
FROM CNN's Jack Cafferty:
When it comes to Afghanistan, the Obama White House keeps pointing fingers at President Bush. Although the war is in its ninth year - they make it sound like things are back to square one.
art.obama.jpg

Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel says President Obama is asking the questions that have never been asked on the civilian side, the political side, the military side and the strategic side - a not-so-thinly-veiled reference to Obama's predecessor.
As President Obama continues to delay his decision whether to send as many as 40,000 more troops into battle - the latest excuse is the runoff election in Afghanistan - the tide is turning against the war here at home.
A new CNN-Opinion Research Corporation Poll shows 59 percent of Americans are opposed to sending more troops into Afghanistan...only 39 percent support sending troops - and 28 percent say we should withdraw all U.S. forces.
And, perhaps even more troubling for the current administration: 52 percent of those surveyed say Afghanistan has turned into another Vietnam-President Obama's Vietnam.
There's no doubt President Bush deserves a lot of the blame for the problems in Afghanistan. His decision to invade Iraq derailed America's mission there. But President Obama has been in office for nine months now and some days his administration acts like they just discovered we have troops in Afghanistan.
Here's my question to you: At what point should President Obama stop blaming the Bush administration?
Interested to know which ones made it on air?

J.G. writes:
Obama and his administration appear to be in over their heads. They don't have a plan for Afghanistan, unemployment, or the economy so they continue to blame Bush and FOX news. They are starting to look like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off, throwing excuses and accusations against the wall and hoping some of them stick.

Tim writes:
The time to blame the Bush White House passed months ago. Like it or not, Obama owns the conflicts. Having been in the military for 26 years, I believe Afghanistan is a pretty easy decision: either accept the recommendations from the commanders on the ground and commit the troops, or take everyone out. If the president goes part way on the number of troops requested, he will indeed take steps towards creating the next Vietnam. A poor decision will empower our enemies globally and put all of us at risk.

Susan writes:
Obama shouldn't stop blaming the Bush administration at all, because Obama knows that if he stops doing this, then people will easily forget who started it. So, I would always remind the people whose war it really is and how we got into it. How soon we forget.

Bob from Syracuse, Indiana writes:
Jack, The day Obama took the oath of office the Afghanistan war became HIS issue to deal with. He didn't go into the presidency blindly. Obama received briefings from November 2008 until January 2009. His Chief-of-Staff, Press Secretary and the rest of the White House damage control team need to pony up and quit trying to dodge the issue.

Michael from Alexandria, Virginia writes:
When we stabilize Afghanistan (finish cleaning up that mess) and pass a tax bill which deals with the mounting deficits caused, in large part, by the Bush tax cuts, the unfunded expansion of Medicare and the expansion of the military. That will be a long time, Jack.

Tito from Hollywood, California writes:
He should stop blaming the Bush admin immediately. We all know who got us in this mess and bringing Bush's name up only makes him look unsure of himself. He needs to get off the pot and start making some very difficult decisions, starting with Afghanistan. The majority of Americans want out of Vietnam II.

as usual you are guys seem to be drifting here, don't compare the two leaders, they face two sets of challenges in their respective countries.

But the difference is Obama is doing something about it. Na matokeo yake tumeyaona. Benki zimeanza kuimarika. Wall Street is firming up. Bado tu unemployment na hiyo ikibadilika na tupitishe health reform tunayoyoma awamu ya pili come the next election.
BTW my cool aid is mixed with a little Courvoisier.

Ukisoma moja ya posti zangu. Hili benki kuimalika ilibidi atumie tools. Pesa zitakopwa lakini baadaye wapo watakaolipa.

Tanzania haina tools hizo.

Ni kweli tunahitaji tools na uzuri wa Marekani they already have the tools and what they need is a good user of those tools. Sisi tools bado hatujaziimarisha na kuongezea madreva wenyewe ndio hao hao wameamua kujichukulia vyao mapema. We have a way to go.

Hata haya hawana! Mimi naona wameiharibu sifa ya hiyo tuzo.

Wewe fikiria, deadline ya nominations ilikuwa mwanzoni mwa februari. Yeye kaingia madarakani tarehe 20 mwezi januari. Does that make sense to you?

That doesn't make any sense to me.

Oyaa, JK and his men are/might be reading this thread, you got to tell him/them what to do instead of showering him with blames and names

Jamani mboni hapa kuna dalili za kutuzubaisha na kuondoa focus from the key issue yaani kuhusu competence ya Kikwete, sswala la Obama hata kama

Thanks Julius, its easier said than done and is always our nature that we expect quick fix while shits take year to form

Luckily huyu jamaa gave us all the reasons to expect more!!! he had all the vuvuzela with him thinking one can do marketing for presidency and wait for customers to come out and buy the products

None can buy the stuff so its time for JK [I respect him alot] to come up and show his quality he marketed

Thanks JAsusi for being blunt!!!! i had to protect my president anayway

MTM

In those times he was minister for energy and other numerous positions. He is a key player of all dubious electricity and minerals contracts. There are no enough words for fleeing him from this situation that we are experiencing. He was supposed to prove that he was not the one, though at that time he did not resign!

In many cases we forget that 99% of our decisions are made by politicians and all we do now is ripping the rewards!!! did he try anything to change that? no, would you... ?? lets guess YES/NO

This man just joined demo he didnt have a clue

EAsy does it!!! KJ is a product of flop seeds and flop gardener... so honors even!!!

Yet he has failed to lift us up!!! but we have to acknowlegde the prognosis of the disease, its chronic manifestation mazeeeeeeeeeeee
