Nguruvi,
do we know the implication of Zbar going its own separate ways?
My take is, with the current internal feuds currently trnqulized by the govt of national unity, Zanzibar needs a transition before it can stand on its own.short of this it has all the recipe for disaster hovering at our doorstep. Zbar does not have strctures to absolve internal and external shocks. Unfortunately some zanzibaris still are the illusion of looking towards the east - to a "big brother" . I dare say that is 19th century syndrome and which is misplaced.
ndio maana nashauri tuvumiliane! Tupeane muda kwa kuwa miaka 50 si haba inabidi wajiandae Kama kweli wanaamini kuwa wanataka "kufaidi"mapinduzi Yao matukufu

- it needs it's own armed forces
- police,
- fully fledged govt portfolio, foreign, internal, EAC, etc not to mention the two VPs......
- Strong and sustainable revenue sources/ treasury
- Own currency , central bank and strong monetary policies
- etc
