A purported press release claiming that former President Uhuru Kenyatta rejected repeated requests to meet former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been dismissed as fake by Uhuru’s spokesperson, Kanze Dena Mararo.

- On August 12th, a letter circulated online alleging to have been released by the office of Kenya's fourth president, Uhuru Kenyatta. The letter claimed that the retired president was rejecting a meeting with the former Deputy President of Kenya, Rigathi Gachagua.
The document, which went viral on various social media platforms, carried the branding of the Office of the Fourth President of the Republic of Kenya and was presented as an official communication. It claimed that Gachagua had repeatedly sought an audience with Uhuru through different intermediaries, but the retired president had turned down the requests.
However, an online investigation conducted by JamiiCheck using open-source tools revealed that the letter is entirely fabricated and was not issued by the former president's office.
Furthermore, the Office of the Fourth President has officially dismissed the letter. Speaking through Uhuru Kenyatta’s spokesperson, Kanze Dena Mararo, the office denied authoring the document and flagged it as fake. See here and here.
