21-gun salute as Yoweri Museveni, Uganda’s newly sworn-in president, took two oaths on Tuesday, marking the beginning of a new five-year term that would extend his rule to nearly half a century.
He took the oath at about 11:50am and received instruments of power within around six minutes, officially ushering in his next term in office.
