Trip to South Africa by Bus from Kenya. Yes, it's very possible to travel to South Africa by bus from Nairobi, Kenya.
You will take 3 different buses to travel from Nairobi to South Africa.
Bus 1- Nairobi to Dar-es-Salaam. You can travel with Tahmeed Coach, Kidia One or Sr Classic coaches
Bus 2- Dar-es-Salaam to Lusaka, Zambia. The reliable bus company operating on the route is Sr Classic coaches the last data l was given by them that's 2 weeks ago, they have daily schedule from Dar-es-Salaam to Lusaka.
Bus 3- Lusaka to Johannesburg. We have several Bus companies operating on the route Royal Africa Logistics, K and M Luxury, Unlimited Gift Limited and Juldan Motors. They don't operate daily. Buses depart to South Africa from Zambia on Sundays and Tuesdays
Kenyans and Ugandans usually face a very tough time at the Tunduma/ Nakonde border point. That's the border separating Tanzania and Zambia. They officials there are very mean and will harass you if you are not from Tanzania or Zambia
Those wishing to go to Lilongwe in Malawi by Bus we have Falcon coaches which depart Dar-es-Salaam to Lilongwe every Wednesday.
Sr classic has direct buses from Dar-es-Salaam to Harare, Zimbabwe and Lubumbashi in Congo. You can also try Ratco express they have a direct bus to Congo also.
If you want to see the Victoria Falls try Royal Africa Logistics. They use the Zimbabwe route while heading to South Africa from Zambia and the road usually pass near the Victoria falls.
Requirements for travelling everything required during cross border travelling ,Yellow fever card and passport, have A Visa with you just incase of anything. Total cost travelling alone from Kenya is usually roughly around ksh 28,000 that's travelling without accommodation and food etc
