Jamani naomba niulize katika hizi debate who are the candidates trying to win over? Sisi die hard supporters au undecided voters? I beleive the undecided voters. And for that reason Obama chose the best tactic.
Rev Kishoka: be fair, Obama cannot go around acting like an Angry Black Man, most independent voters in focus groups had one major question: is Obama ready to lead? Does he look presidential? And for that reason he had to come across softer, more formal and definitely not aggressive. And so far it appears that this tactic worked for him VERY WELL. He was not trying to impress people who have made up their mind. Wazungu si unawajua wanatafuta sababu ya kutompigia kura, ndo maana hata hii ishu ya Rev Jeremiah Wright ilikuwa mbaya sana kwa ajili ya Obama.
Regarding WSJ opinion, I am sorry but WSJ is owned by Murdoch right? Kwa hiyo hawa na Fox News all represent the Wall Street interests na wanamwogopa sana Mjaluo. I am not interested in pretentious objective analysis from a bunch of loosers who brought down the economy of America with risky behavior. WSJ siku zote ni pro-republican. Kitu cha ajabu if they have anything positive to say about any Democrat.
I think the fact that most polls overwhelming show that undecided voters felt that Obama won the debate.
Another problem that was evident was McCain's grimaces. Hicho kimeongelewa sana na pia jinsi gani alivyokataa Babu kumwangalia Obama hata alipoambiwa kwa msisitizo na moderator Jim Lehrer. Tukitaka kulinganisha mdahalo huu tunaweza kuchukua ule wa Nixon and Kennedy, Kennedy akiwa sasa Obama na nixon is McCain. Nixon and McCain both came across as grumpy, angry, dark. Hata smile ya Babu yake Nyani has been perceived by many as grimaces.

So, mimi nadhani kama supporters tusitegemee that Obama atakuwa aggressive in these debates openly, actually he was aggresive but in a very civilized manner. It was a small visual, but one that seemed to be getting traction among the punditry. Charlie Gibson on ABC and David Brooks on PBS both noted that McCain didn't look at Obama once. The Atlantic's Marc Ambinder wrote that McCain sounded "angry and passionate"; MSNBC's Chris Matthews described the GOP nominee as "troll-like" and "grouchy."
