There is still a risk of retaliation but the date is unknown.

According to the report, Iran decided to either delay the strike or change the nature of its response to Israel's attack on its consulate in Damascus.

Iran's state news agency IRNA (an official channel of Iran) says "the time is ripe to punish Israel", adding that a final decision on how to respond had been made.

Israeli officials have asked the US to send private communication to Iran asking to limit its retaliation strike on israel. Iran’s FM has been having phone calls with several neighbouring countries that host US forces, probably to convey US’ message to Iran to limit its attack, according to Axios.

Retaliation strikes follow the basic military principle of "surprise." Iran has mentioned this several times. Iran’s timing is different than what US assumes or expects. It is a matter of striking fear and playing ball before aiming at the goal.
