Travellers entering Uganda no longer need to present a yellow fever vaccination certificate, according to the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control (DCIC).
The certificate is no longer listed among the entry requirements on Uganda’s e-visa portal or the DCIC website.
However, travellers should note that yellow fever vaccination requirements are still in place in some other East African countries, including Kenya, depending on the traveller’s origin and travel route.
What this means for travellers
•No yellow fever certificate is currently required to enter Uganda.
•The change applies to entry into Uganda and does not automatically apply to other countries.
•Travellers crossing borders within East Africa should check the requirements of their destination before departure.
•Entry and health requirements may change, so travellers should confirm with the relevant authorities before travelling.
Would you support this change, and what do you think it means for travellers entering Uganda?
