Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp will be handed a £40 million transfer kitty to spend this summer, according to a report from The Daily Star, as he looks to boost his squad ahead of the club's foray into next season's Champions League.

The report claims that he will begin his spending with a move for Manchester United's Michael Carrick, a man whose Old Trafford future seems to have become uncertain in recent weeks

Redknapp is also apparently set to pounce for Manchester City forward Craig Bellamy, a player whom he is believed to hold in long-standing admiration.

Spurs are also believed to have an interest in VfL Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko, whilst Ledley King is set to be offered a new deal after the club also confirmed that Gareth Bale has signed a new four-year contract at White Hart Lane.

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has signed a new contract at Old Trafford which should see him stay at Old Trafford for another four years.

The Northern Ireland international has enjoyed another busy season for the Red Devils, who have been badly affected by injuries to members of their back four this season.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is in the process of remodelling his defence at Old Trafford, with Chris Smalling also set to arrive from Fulham in the summer.

Evans' new contract comes after several months of negotiation. Whilst there was never much doubt he would remain at the club, the details of the deal have taken time to get worked out to the satisfaction of all parties

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Gareth Bale has signed a new contract that should see him stay at White Hart Lane until the summer of 2014.

The Welsh international has enjoyed an impressive cmapaign this season, playing a significant part in Spurs' successful charge for a top four finish.

Bale joined Tottenham from Southampton in May 2007 as a 17-year-old. He has since made 75 appearances for Spurs, scoring five goals.

He was also recently named as the Premier League's Player of the Month for April.

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has revealed that he would welcome Franck Ribery to Stamford Bridge, should the Blues attempt to sign the Frenchman from Bayern Munich in the summer.

Reports yesterday indicated that perhaps the Blues' interest in Ribery may have cooled due to his personal issues, but Drogba insists that the winger would be a positive signing for the west Londoners should Carlo Ancelotti decide to move for the player.

"I know Franck from my time at Guingamp. If he comes to Chelsea, I will be happy. He is hungry. I like hungry players," Drogba told reporters

Inter are ready to pull Jose Mourinho into office, push for him to sign a new deal and keep Real Madrid away from enticing him to Spain.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports that president Massimo Moratti is eager to lay new foundations in relation to Mourinho's future by building upwards and taking his deal to 2013.

England coach Fabio Capello and Catania boss Sinisa Mihajlovic have both been linked with the role at Inter if Mourinho accepts the golden goose from Madrid.

On Friday, Inter CEO Ernesto Paolillo affirmed Mourinho's future "is at Inter".

"It might only be one player - one expensive player - but then we might go for it.

Arsenal defender William Gallas has turned down the offer of a new two-year contract at the Emirates because it does not include a pay rise, according to a report from The Daily Mirror.

However, the 32-year-old and his agent have turned down the offer as they are also reportedly seeking a pay rise to a wage of £100,000 a week.

Wenger is believed to want to keep Gallas, who also apparently wants to stay in north London. However, Wenger is keen to move quickly in the transfer market ahead of the World Cup, and may feel compelled to shell out for two new centre-backs if Gallas does not make his mind up soon.

Chelsea are in the hunt for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez but the Basque club will not alllow the player to leave for less than £15 million, according to a report from The Daily Mirror.

Real Madrid are also apparently in the hunt for the 21-year-old, who signed for Bilbao in summer 2006 from Osasuna.

Martinez has also been linked with a move to Liverpool during the course of the last year or so, though nothing concrete has materialised.

The Blues are also apparently interested in Valencia winger Pablo, according to the report.

Manuel Pellegrini's chances of continuing into the second year of his Real Madrid contract are becoming more and more remote, according to AS and Marca. The dailies quote El Larguero as having reported an ultimatum from Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho to Los Blancos. The Inter boss has reportedly warned them: "If you want to sign me, you need to tell me now."

Mourinho is under contract at the club until 2012 and has a buyout clause of €8 million in his contract. When asked if he will continue with the Nerazzurri, the Special One replied: "Inter already walks alone. They can change their coach and their players and still march forward."

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent has said there is nothing to declare in relation to his Barcelona future amid speculative reports linking him with a Juventus return

Tuttosport claimed the Bianconeri were ready to hit the transfer market early and bring back Ibrahimovic from Barcelona in the summer.

But the striker's agent Mino Raiola feels such a move is unlikely, despite having said that "nothing was impossible" when asked about a possible return on Sunday.

"It was a hypothetical question, and I gave a hypothetical response," he told Calciomercato.it.

"I was asked whether an Ibrahimovic return to Juventus was impossible, and I said that nothing is impossible.

"In any case, Ibrahimovic is happy in Spain, and he is not for sale by Barcelona.

"But nothing is impossible. When he was at Juventus, and then Inter, he was also not for sale..."

After the declaraions of Bayern Munich director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge yesterday that on-loan Roma striker Luca Toni is no longer welcome at the Bundesliga club, the player's agent Tullio Tinti has addressed the player's next step.

"The possibility of Toni staying in Rome is supported by everyone, but now it's premature to talk about it," he said to romanews.eu.

"In the coming days Roma and Bayern will meet and then we'll see if the two clubs reach an agreement. For now though there are no appointments planned, Roma are thinking only about the league."

Since joining Roma during the winter, the veteran has scored five goals and enjoyed a resurgence in the Castrol Rankings. However, he looks unlikely to be selected in Italy's World Cup squad.

City are expected to pay £11 million for the 21-year-old who is a full German international and offers versatility across defence and midfield.

"We are quite close to signing him," Mancini told the Manchester Evening News.

"Boateng is a good player, a young player and strong.

Reports earlier this month suggested that Real Madrid and Benfica had already agreed terms over a transfer for Argentinian international Angel Di Maria, but a new report from Portugal now claims that the two sides have yet to reach an agreement.

Benfica are reluctant to let go of their star player and are only willing to cash in on Di Maria if a club meets the tricky winger's €40 million release clause, according to a report in Record.

However, Real Madrid reportedly only want to pay €34 million for Di Maria and English clubs such as Manchester City and Chelsea could be ready to hijack Real's Di Maria deal.

As reported by Sport, Barcelona patron Joan Laporta has declared that despite giving up his presidency on June 30th, as dictated by the club's constitution, he will attempt to sign players in preparation for the Blaugrana's 2010-11 campaign.

"The subject of signings is up to Txiki Begiristain and Pep Guardiola, but as for me I believe we should begin signing players right now," declared Laporta.

Barcelona have been linked to elite players such as David Villa, David Silva, Juan Mata, Cesc Fabregas, Franck Ribery, and Andrey Arshavin. The Catalan outfit have reportedly already struck an agreement with Villa for a summer transfer.
