Thought your commute into work was bad?
This is the scene in New Delhi, India - where motorists are forced to endure a 26 lane traffic jam on highway NH-8 between New Delhi and Gurgaon.
The problem is said to be exacerbated by local government experiments to solve it - with a 32 lane toll station resulting in severe bottlenecks further down the highway.
The stark images were posted on Twitter by New Delhi based Anil Sood, founder of ‘Society for Protection of Culture, Heritage, Environment, Traditions and Promotion of National Awareness' (CHETNA) - who has been spearheading a campaign to highlight the plight of India's public transport and traffic system.
He captioned the images: ‘Corruption, inefficiency, robbery, fleecing of Commuters colossal national waste of precious FE man hours', which seems like an apt reflection of how the majority of motorists must be feeling.
The new developments are said to have caused an increase in road accidents too - after a traffic regulation system was abolished last year.
Police commissioner Alok Mittal said: ‘Since the boom barriers at Sirhaul toll plaza have been lifted after midnight, vehicles are coming with great speed from Delhi, and hence possibilities of accidents have increased'.
Yaani asikuambie mtu mpaka uone mwenyewe....Nilishangazwa kuona watu (wahindi) wanavyo nyanyaswa na wahindi wenzao kisa eti ni mafukara. Mwenye uwezo akipita ati analazimisha kuabudiwa na usipomuabudu anaweza kukupiga au hata kukuua and nothing will be done. Hapa Bongo kuna watanzania walioolewa na wahindi koko wanajilazimisha kuongea kihindi majumbani mwao wakati waume zao huko India hawathaminiwi.
