[h=4]Adam Carter from statistical wizards and must-follow on Twitter statCity previews tomorrow's clash with the Magpies.[/h] Based on recent meetings, City fans could be forgiven for expecting an easy ride against this weekends visitors Newcastle United. The Magpies haven't managed to salvage as much as a solitary point against Mancini's men in the last six Premier League matches. The Champions have only dropped four points from the last 36 available from matches against Newcastle United. Only against Aston Villa have the Blues got a better points record.

The two sides are meeting for the 167[SUP]th[/SUP] time in all competitions. City have won 58 (34.94%), drawn 38 (22.89%) and lost 70 (42.17%) of the previous 166 matches between the pair. According to the history books, this is usually a fruitful fixture for the side playing at home, with City notching 40 of their 58 wins on home soil while Newcastle United have enjoyed 48 of their 70 victories at St James' Park.

In the Premier League, Manchester City and Newcastle United are meeting for the 28[SUP]th[/SUP] time. The Blues have won 14 (51.85%), drawn 6 (22.22%) and have lost 7 (25.93%) of the previous 27 league fixtures. The Champions have scored 39 goals (1.44 gpg) against the Magpies and have conceded 29 goals (1.07 gpg) in reply. City have managed to keep 10 (37.04%) clean sheets against the North-East outfit and have only failed to score in 8 (29.63%) Premier League ties between the two sides.

At home in the Premier League, City have only lost 1 (7.69%) of their matches against Newcastle United. That loss came in September 2000 at Maine Road and remains Newcastle's only Premier League victory in the City of Manchester (P32, W1, D11, L20). The Blues have drawn 4 (30.77%) and won the other 8 (61.54%) home Premier League fixtures.

City have notched 21 goals (1.61 gpg) at home against Newcastle and have only conceded 10 (0.76 gpg). The Magpies have only managed to score more than once in an away game against the Blues on one occasion, that famous 3-3 draw at Maine Road in February 2006.

City have kept 5 clean sheets (38.48%) at home in the Premier League against Newcastle United and have only failed to score in 3 (23.08%). The Champions have won 10 and drawn two of their last 12 Premier League matches against the Magpies and will be looking for their seventh successive PL victory over them in this game. Only against Sunderland have City won more consecutive games (9).

Under Roberto Mancini, City haven't dropped a single point against Newcastle United. The Blues have won all 5 games and have scored 13 goals in the process. Three of those goals have been scored by Yaya Toure, the Ivorian hasn't netted more goals against any other opposition in the Premier League.

If Sergio Aguero is fit enough to start the match against Newcastle United, he will be making his 50[SUP]th[/SUP] Premier League start for Manchester City.
Alan Pardew's men will be buoyed by the fact that the Blues have dropped 7 points in their last 7 Premier League fixtures at the Etihad Stadium having only dropped 6 points in their previous 36 fixtures before that!

Not merely satisfied playing a large amount of games for club and country each season, Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has bought struggling third division Belgian side FC Bleid, as reported by The Daily Mail.
The Manchester City captain has begun his bid to make his mark on the club by starting up new website 'westartfromscratch.com' asking fans to suggest a new name for the club.
The former Anderlecht man has also stated he will offer trusted football friends and his sister roles at the club in a bid to change the fortunes of the outfit.
On the site created by Kompany, he said: "I need my time and focus in Manchester and with the Belgian National team.
"The Brussels story is going to be well written by a team of professional staff under my sister.
"They know me through and through and can put my vision into practice."
FC Bleid - founded in 1986, the same year their new owner was born - are currently sat at the bottom of the third division in Belgium having been crippled by financial difficulty.
However, fans can now remain fairly optimistic with the thought that their club is now owned by one of the best defenders in world football.
Kompany continued by saying: "This project has to be more than a club where its members simply kick a ball around.
"The club has to be carried by the fans, the present and future ones. They have to become the beating heart of the club.
"And we don't have time to wait. I'm giving a call to arms for everyone: let's start thinking today of a name for the club."
Hopefully the side will find future success under the influence of one of their countries most decorated stars.

dk 56 A very poor touch to a loose high ball sees Gutierrez turn the ball behind when under no pressure whatsoever. It's been a tough afternoon for the makeshift left-back so far. Fortunately for him, nothing comes of the corner.

dk 62 CHANCE! Dzeko collects Yaya Toure's good ball and has a powerful effort inside the box from a narrow angle on the right well saved by Elliot as he pushes it over the bar.

GOAL! Yaya Toure has grabbed the fourth today, taking his tally to four against Newcastle, playing a one-two with Silva before driving a powerful effort from a narrow angle which beats Elliot at his near post courtesy of a slight deflection from Perch. Game. Set. Match
