Tanzania rejects EAC single tourist visa plan!

Tanzania haijawahi kusema imefukuzwa bali inahitaji kuhusishwa usijifanye hamnazo kichwani, dont cry for Tz!

Narrow minded, dont you remember abou schengen treaty in europe, europian union have common visa, which enable them to travel at least in all countries with the common visa, but some countries had never signed schengen treaty for common visa, notable example is Britain,Iceland,Ireland ,but are still member of Europian union,in advance ,Britain also she rejected to use single currency, and decided to use Paun instead of EURO.
Something to note,In federation,or kind of union,or mutual agreement not necessary to sign everything, what to look how a we going to be benefit when we sign for common visa? if not, lets praise tz under Samuel sitta for this nmatter.

Still Tanzania will never change or make progress on anything unless we integrate ourselves with the rest in the region.Tanzania we have that reputation of irresponsibility, incompentence and laziness at all levels of our government. We need economic competition for us to change.

Am dissappointed with all my fellow Tanzanians' comments who support our government stance on single visa territory issue. To be honest am not with this coward and irresponsible government on this issue of opting out,Let me tell you dudes,No one have ever made any actual progress in terms of economy while isolating oneself,I say no one.For any Country to make a vivid economic progress it needs to enter economic competition with other Nations. When you compete with others you will notice your strengths & weaknesses in an effort to make yourself even better in the park.Mr Sitta claims that the reason of rejecting the project is because Kenya have the best airport in the region so we will be losing a lot of revenues to them are absolutely ridiculous!I didn't expect a man of Sitta calibre to puke such simple reasons.I ask myself how weak Tanzanians have become to even fail to build our own biggest airport in the region? That is one of the advantages the competition will always bring about among the competitors.

Mr Sitta and Tanzania in particular have done a right move. This is a country that has its interests in EAC just as Kenya and any other country in the region. There must be a win-win situation for that matter. After all in EU there are areas including common visa where EU member countries have not signed for their interests and yet you don't hear any complaints despite the Union being in existence for 50 years. Competition that you are talking about has nothing to do with visas directly. One has to think outside the box to come up with what is fit for Tanzania as of now and what not. If losses in the medium and long term are bigger than benefits, we should not in any way rush to sign anything in the EAC, just as we have done.

We do understand there are other nationals in this forum posing as Tanzanians. I have become very weary of some members who always go against our national interest with arguments such as yours highlighted in red.

Hakuna mtu anawaogopa wakenya or anyother country in EAC, ni majuzi tu nimekutana na rafiki yangu 'Mganda' nduguyee kaenda Dar-Es-Salaam kwa mara ya kwanza anasema sasa huyu mtu akienda ulaya itakuwaje maana he his full of praises.

Umeshaambiwa kwa sasa amna utaratibu wa mgawanyo wa mapato how is that supposed to work na isitoshe kwa sasa wale wanaotuwa KIA not only they give us the visa revenue but also contribute in the local hospitality and tourism sector. Kuna vitu Tanzania inabidi ijipange kwanza kabla ya kuji-commit.

Kitu ambacho wakenya wanajivunia sana ni kwa sababu mzungu kaiweka miundo vizuri tayari kwa sababu ya unyonyaji wake na kuipa Kenya advantage as we enter in this new joint venture na wakenya sasa naona wanataka kulipiza hasira za mzungu kwetu sisi, that wont happen.

Mtanzania utamjua tu, inabidi wageni ndani ya hii forum wajifunze utamaduni wetu ukoje as a whole, badala ya kutujaji na siasa za CDM na CCM, wataumbuka tu mwisho wa siku.

For this of visa I beg to differ! If at all there was a good will in all what is done in the Community, I would not care. But remember there is no such good will as you may think. Most of the businessmen from TZ are complaining of non tariff barriers from our neighbours, especially Kenya, something that shows whatever is done in the community if not in fact for the betterment of the region as a whole, rather national interests get upper hands. We shouldn't be taken by sheer statements of competition, laziness etc and forget for protect out national interests, whatever it costs.

Wewe Mkenya ni muongo sana. Ni nani kakuambia waafrika wanataka kuondoa mipaka ya kikoloni? Mbona Hatujaona mataifa mengine ya kiafrika yakiungana ispokuwa Tanzania tu?. Tupo uwanjani tayari tunamenyana kifikra ndio maana tumekataa single visa. We rejected it with reasons. Usitake mawazo yenu yaonekane ndio superb kumbe mna ajenda za siri.

When it comes to defending our National interests i might call myself an extreme patriot & a fierce defender of our national interests but as of now no one care about our National interests,How many times we hear about the Country's resources being grabbed illegally by the foreigners? Our elephants are being killed,Tanzanite & other minerals are being smuggled into other Countries every day & night.

I am a pure Tanzanian by birth.I was born, raised and educated here. The problem i have is that,I am very honest and assertive man.I am also a bold man with the audacity to take risks to hope the dividends in the future.I prefer to try and make errors to avoiding trying and remaining the same as i have always been.Tanzania need to break with insecure and paranoid feelings towards our neighbors as it will continue to make us feel inferiors forever. We really need to dispute these dysfunctional beliefs filled in our heads at all costs.I am telling you, when you finally calm down and think thoroughly about what Mr Sitta just said you will find out that he has no strong reasons to back up his claims,it's just fears over unknown future over there.

Are you telling me you didn't get his argument when he mentioned the figures we receive today independently might be lost because there is no clear consensus on the distribution of that wealth.

Also the mere fact that Nairobi receives four times of the passengers compared to KIA some of whom head to Tanzania, wouldnt that even reduce the numbers even further for those who decide to come via KIA and opt for Jommo Kennyata airport, what would be the impact in our local economy especially in Arusha.

The minister is right nyie subirini tutaingia tu kwenye huu muungano kwa namna mnazotaka but first we need to sort our internal politics and root out the mafisadi who compromise our national positions/interst in many occasions, then we come to rule you mnahitaji kuongozwa nyie na kufundwa uzalendo.

Believe me we have never had any vision for this Country and i don't think we will ever have one.We really need others to push us forward or else we will be losers forever.

I wonder what type of benefit the common visa will lead to member countries

Before ==== 150$ per a visitor
Now==== 100$ per a visitor for all countries

The average for what member earn if they choose to divide equally is 100$/3 = 33.33$

If Tanzania was to be added in to the equation it would be 100$/4 = 25$
It is economically rational to foregore 150 for 25$ ?
Good decision Mr. Sita, this was just a kindagaten play

6 anahitaji back up tu ya watz mkimpa nguvu na kumjoin atleast kuna baadhi ya mambo anayaweza for country's interests,na hiki ndo kinampa credit 6 kwa E.L kwamba ana uwezo wa kujenga hoja na yuko kitaifa zaidi when it comes to him rather than his counterpart

Not just to reject the idea of a SINGLE VISA TERRITORY but they need to tell us what they have in store for this Country!Do they have any plan to make sure that we will enter the UNION as a full-fledged economic power-house?Or we simply don't want to have anything to do with the plan? The latter could be the truth.

Mwenyewe....nyie ndio mnaokuwa brainwashed na kukubali kuwa ni wajinga....I am better than any Kenyan, Rwandese, or Ugandan

Na mkumbuke Tanzania ina attract watalii wenye fweza tofauti na Kenya ambao watalii wao wengi ni vijana wanaotegemea ela za kudunduliza...kwa hiyo wateja wetu hawana interest na cheap things wako after quality...

Mtalii mfano anaenda Rwanda kuangalia nini? Mafuvu

We nawe unachosha. Your argument holds no water in this situation. Tanzania has no business joining coW. Its not beneficial at all.
Most Tanzanians know for a fact we have no business joining the union. We need to sort out our mess before joining such a union.

Watu wamekariri kuwa watanzania ni majinga...watashtuka tuko mbaaali...kwa sasa tunawasha indicator tunaomba watupe njia....
