Awali niliwahi kusema Kagame ni propagandist mzuri sana anayeweza kugeuza nyekundu kuwa nyeupe, inavyooneka sasa ni kama Tanzania inawafukuza wanyarwanda wote hata wanaoishi ki halali na itatugharimu kuitangazia dunia kuwa we didn't mean that.

Tatizo siyo kuwaondoa wahamiaji haramu hasa lakini njia inayotumika siyo sahihi wala ya kibinadamu.

No matter what are the reasons for illegal immigrants driving in these countries, Tanzania is more attractive than Rwanda in terms of peace, land and governance. Thus, I think that there are more illegal immigrants from Rwanda in Tanzania than the vice versa. What would attract Tanzanians to live in Rwanda? Dictatorship? Genocide history? Obvious nothing. Only professional Tanzanians can be attracted to live in Rwanda. Thus, I believe that most of the few attracted Tanzanians in Rwanda are operators and engineers/architects of their development in several aspects such as Academic and agriculture.Above all, they meet all immigrant laws because the procedures of get immigrant documents are clear i.e. they do not base on tribe like Tsuti and Hutu in Rwanda.
It should be clearly noted that the operation is for all illegal immigrants from any country (Rwanda, Burundi, DRC, SA, Somalia, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, etc). Why the Rwandan government is considering as a target for this operation? The reason is clear. The recently misbehaviour of their president to Tanzania.

Kikwete hajafukuza Wanyarwanda, na hata ukisikiliza kwa makini speech yake aliyotoa mkoani Kagera hakujata jina la Taifa lolote lile. Alichosema ni kwa wahamiajia 'haramu' waondoke ndani ya ardhi ya Tanzania. Wahamiaji haramu. Kwa nini Wanyarwanda wanapiga kelele? Mbona hatusikii watu wa Burundi nao wanalalamika?

Kagera na mikoa mingine ya ukanda huo kumekuwa kama uwanja wa mazoezi wa wahamiaji haramu, katika hali hiyo nini jukumu la serikali ya Tanzania kwa watu wa Kegera na mikoa jirani? Kauli kwamba Rwanda haitawafukuza Watanzania ni usanii. Kama kuna mhamiaji haramu ndani ya Rwanda, basi serikali ya Rwanda inayojukumu la kumuondoa huyo mhamiaji haramu, na sio hizi simulizi za Manenge na Mandawa!

Rais Kagame alitakiwa ajue mapema kabla ya kurusha jiwe akiwa kwenye nyumba ya kioo. Alipotoa tishio la kumpiga rais wa Tanzania maana yake ametishia 'DOLA' ya Tanzania. Kikwete hakwenda Addis Ababa kama mkulima wa mboga mboga, na wala hakutoa ushauri kama mtu wa kawaida. Alikuwa Addis na alitoa ushauri kwa nchi jirani kama rais wa nchi huru yenye mamalaka kamili ndani ya mipaka yake na pia yenye kuwajibika katika Jumuiya za kimataifa.

Kichekesho ni pale watu wanakimbilia mwamvuli wa kuungana kwa nchi za Afrika Mashariki! Kwani wakati Kagame anajitangazia ubondia hawa watu hawakukumbuka huo umoja? Media za Rwanda zilikuwa busy kumtukana Kikwete, mbona hawakujikita kwenye umoja wa Afrika Mashariki. Sasa Kikwete kawaonesha tofauti ya fundi na kibarau wanakimbilia umoja wa Afrika Mashariki.

Tanzanians who live or travel to Rwanda should do so freely and comfortably with no fear of persecution, Foreign Affairs Minister Louise Mushikiwabo has emphasised amidst the ongoing expulsion of Rwandans from Western Tanzania.

Speaking at a news conference in Kigali yesterday, the minister said that recent pronouncement of Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete regarding negotiations with DRC-based FDLR militia, will not disrupt strong ties between Rwandans and Tanzanians.

“Not only are we neighbours, we have strong ties among our people, we have blood ties, we have business ties, and we have a lot that brings us together,” Mushikiwabo said, also taking the opportunity to welcome Tanzanians in Rwanda.

“They can live here for as long as they wish. We consider them our own people in the East African Community.”

Mushikiwabo is also the government spokesperson.

The suggestion made by Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete in May this year that the Rwandan government negotiate with the FDLR sparked outrage in Rwanda.

The FDLR, whose French acronym means the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda, is made up of members who are largely responsible for the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in which over a million people died in a three-month slaughter campaign.

The group, which the UN has also branded a terrorist organisation, has been involved in creating instability in eastern Congo. The group has been involved in a spate of attacks in Rwanda including a grenade attack last month that killed three people and injured dozens.

Mushikiwabo said that Rwanda’s policy towards the militia has always been clear and is not about to change, a statement she made several times at the news conference, urging whoever suggests that Rwanda should engage FDLR in negotiations to forget about it.

“When you are associated with genocide, you should be an enemy of everybody,” she said, also explaining that “there should be clarity about why Rwandans are unhappy” when it comes to any ideas that recommend talking to the FDLR.

Expelled Rwandans

Meanwhile, Mushikiwabo said that the government will receive and protect Rwandans who are being expelled from Tanzania based on claims that they are illegal immigrants. She noted that it was regrettable that Tanzania did not consult Rwanda before kicking them out.

“There was a decision made, we were not consulted and our obligation as a state and as a government is to offer protection to the people coming to us and that’s what we have been busy doing,” she said.

Rwandan families, including those who have lived in Tanzania since the 1950s, have for the past three days been arriving through Rusumo border after President Kikwete instructed local officials to give only two weeks to the so called “illegal” immigrants to leave the Kagera Region, which shares borders with Rwanda.

The New Times’ Bureau Chief in the Eastern Province, Stephen Rwembeho, said that some Tanzanians of Rwandan origin have also arrived in Rwanda after their citizenship and other residential documents were torn up and destroyed by local officials in Tanzania.

The Ministry of Disaster Management and Refugee Affairs (MIDMAR), in conjunction with Kirehe District authorities have begun preparations to settle the expelled Rwandans. By press time, nearly 300 had registered with Rwandan Immigration officials.

Extradition of M23 commanders

Updating journalists on how Rwanda is handling DRC’s request for the extradition of former M23 commanders who are on Rwandan territory, Mushikiwabo said that it is not unusual that there is a long process before decisions on extradition requests are made.

Rwanda has already requested the DRC government to send documents containing records of suspects, their charges and evidence against them, as well as legal references forming the basis of prosecution of each suspect.

The Congolese government has asked Rwanda to extradite the former political leader of M23 Jean-Marie Runiga and former military commanders Baudouin Ngaruye, Eric Badege and Innocent Zimurinda, so that they can face prosecution back home.

“It is a process. Don’t just think that Rwanda would immediately put someone on a plane and send them back upon receiving the request,” Mushikiwabo told reporters. She also pointed out that Rwanda does not extradite suspects to countries that have the death penalty.

The fighters crossed into the country in March to escape divisions in M23 group and are currently interned in a temporary facility as required by international laws applicable to persons who have fled armed conflicts.

While HE Kikwete came recently and will be gone tomorrow, Tanzania(ns) and Rwanda(ns) have always been and will hopefully always be. This stand of the Rwanda government I believe is based on this premise.
My humble advice to HIM (JMK) is to cease separating families no matter who or what he is trying to please or appease. The woman who was rudely separated from husband and children can cause such calamity as the whole of TZ can regret for a very long time.
It is from such issues that national curses originate from. Elders and religious leaders here have a task of cautioning HE JMK who may not be well versed in matters of history and/or tradition that his actions can cause unbearable consequences.
HE should also be cautioned to desist from liaison with FDLR. None has ever dined with interahamwe and lived to tell the tale. Mobutu, Kabila, Mitterrand, Obote.....they all died horribly and their descendants are paying dearly with overburdened consciences.
Desist JMK and retire honourably as your predecessors.

Let me tell you two things: 1)If those people expelled from Tanzania are real and genuine Rwandans, then let us Welcome them back home. "Ahatari iwanyu si iwanyu" .2)We should however draw a lesson from what is happening now; and that is: People in the EAC member states are being told lies (by their officials) about integration. Facts are there to tell us the truth.

from the word go, Tanzanians were not ready for the integration. I now see the reason there was a meeting among three heads of state out of 5 in the EAC. The meeting was only for those who see positive results in the integration (the fast movers) while others are still held in inconsequential plans of expelling a common man from undeveloped jungles of Karagwe

The DRC government is just being run by jokers. The various international laws and protocols bar Rwanda from refouling individuals to countries where they might face torture and degrading treatment.
Going by the fate of the Kinyarwanda speaking FADRC and the captured M23 soldiers by the DRC government troops and their acolytes, there is no doubt that the latter is a torturous government. It would thus be pertinent for the Rwandan government not to hand over the renegade M23 officials under their custody to the DRC government.

Why crying.....? I don't find any reason behind a parent who is crying when his/her son/daughter is told to go back to him/her from a person who was giving him /her a voluntary ( not mandatory ) support..! The GOVT of Rwanda should not be CRYING to attract sympathy from International Community instead should be happy with them,welcome and strongly warn them against living in the land of others without proper documentation. By the-way, it has to be noted that the issue here is ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS which is the case to any other country including Rwanda I don't think if in Rwanda they allow people to just enter and live without proper immigration procedures. What they are doing is nothing than misleading the public by trying to create ernemity between the citizens of Tanzania and their President by saying that they have no problem with Tanzanians but Kikwete himself. ..First, it is not the case that the government has revoked the citizenship of Tanzanians who happen to be of Rwandan origin.

..If that was the case those wananchis have all the rights to sue their government, and we know in such cases our system works.

..Second, the proper procedure was to arrest all illegal immigrants before they r sent to their respective countries, instead the government has given them a long enough notice for all "wahamiaji haramu" to leave our country VOLUNTARILY.

Jokakuu i'm one not to throw insult to tanzania. Only to Rushasha because from my experience, he is probably a rwandese with interahamwe traits or interahamwe. What you don't know is that there are many interahamwe there in tanzania. Not as many as in Congo but they are there and unlike the tutsi, these you cannot pinpoint them but they are there amongst you. They have seized these recent spats between Rwanda and Tanzania and they want to take advantage of this to attack Rwanda. What I can assure Rushasha and Co. is the that will never happen again.
