Rwanda To Eliminate Nyumba za Majani by May

KIGALI - The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local government, Eugene Balikana, has announced that the government has set May as the final deadline for completely phasing out thatched houses in the country.

He made the remarks while briefing the press after a meeting that brought together several ministers, top army and police officers, governors and other government officials to strategize on how to eliminate thatched houses.

"With the help of the Ministry of Local Government, the army, police and other groups, there will be an official launch of construction of houses for the vulnerable people who still live in thatched houses," said Balikana. He added that the campaign will be launched on January 18.
Currently, there are about 68,951 vulnerable people across the country who stand to benefit.

Balikana added that districts and province officials will be sensitizing those who still live in thatched houses but can afford to build their own houses, to start constructing and the government will assist them with iron sheets.

He emphasized that among the key reasons for phasing out thatched houses is because they pose health hazards, adding that as the country develops, the living standards of the people should also improve.

Suala sio nchi kuwa ndogo...sawa ni determination na jitihada za kujaribu kufanya hiyo tofauti.Hatuwezi kusema uchumi unakuwa tu bila maisha ya wananchi kuwa bora zaidi!

Acha uvivu wa kufikiri na fikra mgando wewe, Inawezekana kabisa kuondoa manyasi kama kuna utashi wa kisiasa. Tatizo tuna viongozi wavivu, wasio na ubunifu na wasio na nia ya dhati kuondoa umasikini wa nchi hii. Kila kiongozi anakula tu bila kujali itakuwaje Kesho.
 
Wakati Rwanda wanaanza kuijenga nchi yao tulipeleka watanzania wengi sana kuwafundisha na kuongoza maeneo mbalimbali kama akina Prof. Mwalubamba, Kuanzisha RRA walienda akina Nyambere n.k lakini baada ya miaka 10 tu sasa tunahitaji Kagame aje kututawala na kutufundisha namna ya kutumia mali asili zetu kujiletea maisha bora. Nanda Ngara eneo la Kirushya ukipitia Mugikomero utaona tofauti kubwa sana ya nyumba za Tanzania, Rwanda na kidogo Burundi. Hawa wote wanaishi maeneo yanayofanana lakini Warwanda na warundi wanaezeka nyumba kwa vigae wanavyochoma wenyewe wakati Tanzania tunaezeka kwa majani ya migomba.

Tatizo ni utashi wa kisiasa na msukumo wa kielimu kwa tanzania. We need changes..........
 
Huyu Kagame ni katili lakini anawapenda sana wanachi wake. Namkubali sometimes.

Ndo maana tunataka utawala wa majimbo nadhani utarahisisha usimamizi wa maendeleo. Chukua peas za (EPA + DOWANS + DEEP GREEN + MEREMETA + KAGODA) gawanya bei ya bati ~20,000/= Utapata jibu! Kaya moja wape mabati 100, tutapata jumla ya kaya zitakazopata mgao. Kwa hesabu hii tutaezeka mpaka kaya zote za Burundi!
 
ni hatua nzuri sana hii, zanzibar ni ndogo zaidi ya rwanda kwa ukubwa but still kuna nyumba za makuti nna manyasi tele. hizi ndio hatua za kweli za kupambana na umasikini na naamini hata hapa kwetu tunaweza. tena sie tukiamua tutazieliminate kwa muda mfupi zaidi kwani tuna rasilimali nyingi sana compared to Rwanda. we only lack leadership. hengereni rwanda

Kagame hata kama ni dikteta, lakini ana manufaa makubwa kwa nchi yake. Big up to him.
 
Dr. Kagame is doing what is best for his country. Talking of Democracy at this time in the Land of Rwanda does not help. When the forces of evil were leashed and thousands of Rwandans died at the ignorance. The people need to feel as of one nation and not as of tribes which were broken up by the colonists.

May be Rwanda will become a Singapore of Africa and lead others to prosperity and may be to democracy. The first need of people is food, shelter and security and then democracy matters. If you are hungry, naked and insecure, democracy does not matter.

Congratulations to Kagame and the progress he has made so far - even with all the imperfections.

Respect Kagame. You are doing it once again.

Kama nchi yetu ni kubwa then hata rasilmali zetu ni kubwa; kwa wao wenye nchi ndogo na raslimali kidogo wanaweza kufanya yanayolingana na ukubwa wa nchi yao. Sisi pia tunatakiwa tufanye kulingana na ncvhi yetu. Tuna dhahabu, almasi na madini kemkem lakini hakuna la maana tunachofanya zaidi ya kujidai tuna amani eti "tusije tukauwana kama Rwanda" huku wenzetu wao wakiendelea
