- In the #UCLfinal Simeone will have a very strong tactical layout for the final, probably trying to deny
Modrić out of space, limiting our creativity. He already did that in el Derby at the Bernabéu this season. Had
two or three players on Modrić every time he had the ball.
- Casemiro will be key in stopping Atletico's counter attacks. Can't see him not starting in the final.
- Atletico are extremely clinical finishers, they don't create many chances, but they finish off what they get. Defense will be the key.
- Something that could counter Simeone man-marking Luka is setting up a tactical plan where off-ball movement breaks down Atletico.
- Casemiro will be one of the most essential players for this game, he can truly make the difference against a team like Atletico.
- Casemiro started against Atletico [away] with Benitez was manager and we dominated the match. We didn't win because of Carvajal's injury.Casemiro was sublime that match, he gave Modrić a lot of liberty, and the Croatian completely bossed the midfield.
- At the Bernabéu, [with Zidane] James was played on the right, and Casemiro didn't start. Our midfield was completely marked by Atletico's.
- Gareth Bale didn't play against Atletico at the Bernabéu, and wasn't fully fit at the Calderon. With his great form, he'll be a big boost.
- Marcelo didn't start at the Santiago Bernabéu either, and Zidane didn't have his strongest XI thought out yet. Things are much better now.
- Starting XI vs Atletico [Benitez 4-2-3-1]: Navas; Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo; Casemiro, Kroos, Modrić, Isco; Cristiano, Benzema.
- Starting XI vs Atletico [Zidane 4-3-3]: Navas; Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Danilo; Modrić, Kroos, Isco, James; Benzema, Cristiano.
- As you can see, Zidane's squad was all over the place, he was missing key players and didn't have a structured and practiced line-up yet.
- This is all on paper anyways, what matters is what happens on the pitch. We shall see, Milano awaits. [@BlancoEdition]
