Kiongozi wa Kanisa Katoliki Duniani, Papa Francis, amefariki dunia leo April 21,2025 kwenye Jumatatu ya Pasaka akiwa na umri wa miaka 88 ambapo Vatican imethibitisha na kusema Papa amefariki kwenye makazi yake Vatican na taarifa zaidi kuhusu kifo chake zitatolewa.

Papa ambaye alizaliwa mwaka 1936 hivi karibuni amepitia changamoto ya upumuaji hadi kuhitaji mashine ya kusaidia kupumua na amekuwa akikabiliwa na matatizo ya kiafya ikiwemo maambukizi ya mapafu(nimonia) hadi kupelekea kulazwa kwa wiki kadhaa kabla ya baadaye afya yake kuimarika.

A short while ago, His Eminence, Cardinal Farrell, announced with sorrow the death of Pope Francis, with these words: “Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis.

At 7:35 this morning (local time), the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and His Church."

"He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage and universal love, especially in favour of the poorest and most marginalised."
