The Importance of a Great CV
To introduce and differentiate yourself and your skills
Your CV is your own personal marketing tool and is your first step in giving the opportunity to evaluate your suitability for an interview
To pick out your competence in key areas against the job profile
To present your professional record, including accurate abilities and achievements
Most CVs will include the following sections:
Full name and contact details (include both work and personal emails)
Personal profile Employment history in reverse chronological order
Education, qualifications and professional development
Additional information

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
If you have a long work history, you may like to summarise sections, providing details on only your most recent and relevant roles.
 Include the year and month starting from your most recent experience
 Highlight your actual position title
 Write a brief description of your main responsibilities including line management and professionaldevelopment responsibilities
 Note any special achievements or initiatives undertaken
 Use action verbs to include statements of responsibility e.g. led, managed, oversaw, developed, designed,created, coordinated, negotiated, served, analysed, performed, supervised, conducted, introduced,implemented, started, sold, integrated, automated, built, installed, refined, deployed.
 Try to include sample statements in the format below. If possible explain your task and the resultingachievement. Also try to quantify results if possible.

 List your education and academic achievements to date in reverse chronological order including qualifications and grades achieved, and the year achieved
