kaka stefano kwa mtazamo wangu jamiiforums pia ni mtandao wa kijamii.... as jina suggest jamii.... anyways. my point is. mtandao wa kijamii ni ule ambao watu huja na mawazo yao "what is in your mind" kuanzisha mada watu wengine kuchangia. kushea picha. videos. kila muhusika kuwa na profile yenye taarifa zake... forums tuseme ndio precursor ya socialnetworks izo zingine. i mean facebook ukitupia status watu watalike watacomment... jamiiforums ukitupia post watu watalike watacomment wataquote na kadhalika.
mie as far as watu wengi wanakutana sehemu moja huku wakibadilishana hilo na lile tayari iyo ni mtandao wa kijamii
From practical POV you are right but technically *NO*!
Discussion forums were designed for a different purpose than what we came to know as SN.
So thye can serve same purpose (Just like Chisel can drive a nail) but **technically** are different!
A social networking service is a platform to build social networks or social relations among people who, for example, share interests, activities, backgrounds, or real-life connections. A social network service consists of a representation of each user (often a profile), his/her social links, and a variety of additional services. Most social network services are web-based and provide means for users to interact over the Internet, such as e-mail and instant messaging. Online community services are sometimes considered as a social network service, though in a broader sense, social network service usually means an individual-centered service whereas online community services are group-centered. Social networking sites allow users to share ideas, pictures, posts, activities, events, and interests with people in their network.
An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages.[1] They differ from chat rooms in that messages are at least temporarily archived. Also, depending on the access level of a user or the forum set-up, a posted message might need to be approved by a moderator before it becomes visible. Forums have a specific set of jargon associated with them; e.g. a single conversation is called a "thread", or topic. A discussion forum is hierarchical or tree-like in structure: a forum can contain a number of subforums, each of which may have several topics. Within a forum's topic, each new discussion started is called a thread, and can be replied to by as many people as so wish.
