PRESIDENT Jakaya Kikwete has appointed 10 new judges to be stationed at the High Court of Tanzania. A statement released today by the Acting Chief Secretary, Mr George Yambesi, revealed that the appointments became effective from June 4, this year.
The appointees include five women - Ms Grace Kalonge Mwakipesile, who was Land Court Registrar before the appointment; Ms Agnes Enos Bukuku, who was Registrar at the Treasury and Ms Ama-Isario Ataulwa Munis, who was Principal State Attorney.
Other women judges appointed are Ms Beatrice Rodah Mutungi, who was Deputy Chairperson of Tax Appeal Board and Ms Mwendwa Judith Malecela, who was Principal State Attorney.
The rest of the appointees are Mr Samwel Victor Karua, who was previously the High Court Registrar and Richard Malima Kibela, who was registrar in Dodoma District.
Others are Dr Fauz Twaib, who was a private advocate; Mr John Harold Utamwa, who was Registrar of the Court of Appeal and Mr Haruna Twaibu Songoro, who was Director of Legal Services.
