Ni muda mrefu sana tangu niondoke MWANZA, nimeskia kuna miradi mikubwa sana ya kibiashara inayoendelea kujengwa hapo mjini, ikiwa ni pamoja na MWANZA CITY COMPLEX, Kituo cha kibiashara cha B.O.T pale ilipokuwa CLINIC ya zamani, pamoja na uwanja wa ndege wa kimataifa wa MWANZA.
Nimekuwa na wasiwasi sana kuhusu barabara kuu itokayo city centre kuelekea AIRPORT kama itaweza ku accomodate magari yatakayokuwa yanatumia barabara iyo. Nahisi taabu kubwa waliyo nayo wakaazi wa DAR es SALAAM, sasa itakuwa MWANZA kwani sidhani kama CITY COUNCIL wamejipanga kikamilifu kuhusu ilo.
Mimi naona ni vyema barabara hiyo sasa ikapanuliwa kuwa njia nne, na si kusubiri mpaka ifikie hali kama ile ya DAR es SALAAM.

Mpango wa upanuzi wa barabara ulikuwepo kitambo. Kikwazo ni jengo la CCM mkoa ambalo itabidi livunjwe kuutekeleza.

The Mwanza City Council from March next year is expected to implement a giant multi-billion commercial complex project aimed at stimulating businesses and attracting more investors in the region.
Mwanza city Assistant Economist and Planning Officer, Joseph Kashushula told the Daily News on Friday that all the necessary preparations have been completed and that the commercial complex would be located at Ghana Area in Ilemela District.
He said the project is expected to stimulate businesses across the Lake Zone and the East African Community at large, The project is expected to take three years and it is a joint venture between the Mwanza City authority and Local Authority pension Fund (LAPF), said Kashushula.
Mwanza City Council project Manager, Eng Fuko Koyoye said the project upon its completion is unprecedented one, It will include playing centres for children, a big parking space for 4,000 to 5,000 cars.
Other features include a special garbage collection facility, giraffe columns and space for financial institutions, just to mention a few, says the project manager.
Meanwhile, Mr Kashushula says implementation of the road project which will cost about 8bn/-, has already started and it is expected to increase the number of kilometres of tarmac road across the Mwanza city from the current 27.1 kms to at least 45.4 kms.
The project is being implemented under the Tanzania Strategic Cities Projects (TSCP) through the support of the World Bank and Royal Danish Embassy (DANIDA). He said the implementation will be in two phases.
The roads to be rehabilitated under phase one are, the Pasiansi to Buzuruga Road (7.4 Kms), Sanga to Kiloleli Road (2 kms), Karuta Road (0.5Km) and Libert Street Road (0.3Km).
Under phase two, the roads include:Mkuyuni to Butimba Road (2.5km), PepsiRoad (1.1Km) and Tunza- Airport- Road (4.5 km).
Experts say Mwanza City is a fast growing city in East Africa. Currently, it is estimated to have a a population of over one million people and its growth rate stands at 3.2 per cent per annum.
