Habarini Wadau
Msaada wenu nauhitaji.
Nice topic ndugu..
To tackle this problem (if it is a problem at all) we can take it in two different approach
Logic
After creation of Adam, God saw that Adam was not happy because of loneliness so He created a companion for him...God the all knowing would have created two women for Adam..even four..or ten..of 72 women for Adam if He thought it was appropriate, but out of His profound wisdom he gave him only one one..knowing that one is enough.
The ration of women to men
God is always precise and to the point in His plans..had He so wished for a man to have four women He would have made sure the ration is 1:4..but this is not the case
The ration again
Some people claim that the ratio shows that women are many compared to men..but what it boils down to is that female are born in greater numbers than men, but then how many grow up to marring age? can anyone state the ratio between matured women and matured men...dont people know that chances (scientifically proved) of a female infant surviving are very minimal as compared to male? to compensate for the deficit they have to be born in great number
Kimaandiko
Everywhere from Genesis to Corinthians the issue of marriage is expressed in terms of one man-one woman
Here are a few examples:
Genesis 2:24 - "therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife...one flesh"
1Cor. 7:2------"nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife...."
Titus 1:6------"if a man is blameless, the husband of one wife...."
1Timothy 3:2--"a bishop must be blameless, the husband of one wife..."
Again there is nowhere where God allowed a man to marry more than one wife..If you consider the cases of Solomon, David, Abraham and co. you will realize that they married more than one woman out of their sexual immoralities and the good thing is they all had to suffer because of these action because they went against the word of God
Solomon became a worshipper of idols as a result of influence from his many wives
David suffered much including losing his first born with the wife of Uria because of his action of marrying many wives..again his son Amnon raped David's daughter Tamar because they were of different mothers..see?
Abraham lost his cool and slept with a beki tatu Hagal and produced the bastard Ishmael...see what happened..Hagal began despising Sarah and caused chaos in the house to the point that she (Hagal) had to be driven away
Most important all the chaos in the word as concerning Arabs and suicide bombing and everything are the results of Ishmael hating the lawful sons of Abraham
Jacob married two women and as the result his house was daily governed by the rivalry between Rachel whom he loved and Leah whom he despised..causing the latter not to enjoy life to the full
So all in all God never allowed a man to marry more that one woman..once you do that problems are sure to follow
For one thing God commands you not to sin..He is in no way becoming lenient as to say "because man is so weak lets allow him another woman to deter him from adultery" nooo! Mungu hakubembelezi na dhambi zako hazina excuse..otherwise wote angetufanya matajiri ili tusiibe!!!!
I dont know about other forms of faith that allow men to marry a multitude of women but one thing I am sure..if given a choice, no woman would wish to share a husband..and that is telling it in volumes..dont you think God would love to grant these women the desires of their hearts???
