Omani Womens Day celebration at ROHM

MUSCAT Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of Tanzania, his wife and the accompanying delegation attended yesterday the ceremony held at the Royal Opera House Muscat on the occasion of the Omani Women Day.
The Tanzanian President was welcomed upon his arrival at the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) by Dr Rawya bint Saud al Busaidiyah, Minister of Higher Education, Chairperson of ROHM Board, accompanied by Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Head of the Mission of Honour accompanying the Tanzanian President.
The President toured the ROHM and heard a detailed explanation about the facilities and nature of shows presented and its year-round programme, in addition to see equipment in it which are the latest equipment used for music and other international opera performances. The President expressed his happiness to visit the ROHM which is considered among the finest opera houses worldwide.
The celebration of the Omani Women's Day included a number of diverse programmes, such as, folklore and musical shows initiated by the British Famosa Guitar followed by Takht Sharqi (Oriental) music by Syrian women group and the talented musicians from the Omani Royal Symphony Orchestra. This celebration is in honour of Omani women's contributions in the arts and culture and her important role in the Omani society. ONA
