A 286 billion Tanzanian shilling deal has been signed by the government and China Construction Engineering Group (CRCEG) for the building of a new football stadium in Arusha. Minister for Culture, Arts and Sports Dr. Damas Ndumbaro, stated during the signing ceremony today, March 19, 2024, in Dar es Salaam, that the stadium will be the most advanced stadium in East Africa, with a seating capacity of 30,000.

In keeping with President Samia Suluhu Hassan's efforts, he also stated that the building will be completed promptly because Tanzania will host the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2027. The stadium will significantly increase travel around the nation.

Because the stadium will serve as a focal point for a variety of events outside of football, like business and athletics, it will significantly boost tourism in the nation.

"With VIP rooms, this stadium will be of the highest standard. As our President Samia marks his third year in office, we accomplished this exercise today," Dr. Ndumbaro stated. In addition, he expressed gratitude to the Permanent Parliamentary Committee on Education, Culture, and Sports for their contributions to making this initiative a success.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Permanent Parliamentary Committee on Education, Culture, and Sports for their work in making this initiative a success.

The Permanent Parliamentary Committee on Education, Culture, and Sports Chairperson, Hon. Husna Sekiboko, demanded the stadium's contractor to ensure sure that the building has been completed in time for the 2025 general election.

"Contractors, make sure that before the 2025 election, the stadium has reached a satisfactory level, and the implementation starts as soon as possible in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)," she emphasized.

In the meanwhile, the stadium will boost tourism in the area, according to Hon. John Mongela, the Regional Commissioner of Arusha.

"We pledge to value this construction and make sure it proceeds without interruption, day or night. Together, let's create history."
