What I have realized from some of you guys is your unrivaled perfection of the art of creating something out of nothing. The Minister was responding to a number of issues relating to international relations and especially, Tanzania's position with regard to the ongoing mideast turmoil. People may have different views and even take exception to some of the comments or remarks he has made, but that does not mean that he entirely wrong. It doesn't mean that the critics are right either. Every body is entitled to their views. As to whether he can make a good president, it is my submission that, that is totally misplaced since he has clearly stated that he isn't interested in the post and he does not intend to vie. This could be partly because he believes he doesn't fit or may because he feels he is satisfied with the service he has rendered to the country.

We should stop villifying people merely because we are all out to advance our own selfish interests. We should not relegate ouselves to guns for hire! Guys, you should breath peacefully and hold your phobia for some other day. The guy has unequivocally stated that he will not run! The rest is merely a waste of your precious time!

I thought you should have a taste from your own medicine. you took a swipe at Kitila for the typos, and you attempted to use that to deny his argument. in the process, you made some yourself! But anyway, Kitila was commenting about the "non-verbal communication skills" - the gestures, etc. I suppose Membe himself can take a point from Kitila's comments. you are referring to typos! no wonder you need a trick or two about communication skills - reading between the lines, main ideas communicated, keyboard errors, etc.

criticising someone is good and healthy, actually. that is why you have "art critics", etc. they give you the other view. you could have just pointed out the good things you noted from the Membe Programme, to give us a different view, instead of attacking the views of others. they are entitled to think that way, just as you are entitled to have your views, and they do not need to apologise for thinking like that.

I didn't see the program itself but I think there is difference between arrogance and confidence am not sure whether the gentlemen was arrogance or confidence.

Concerning his comments whether with Egypt or Libya, there is a thought that he was acting as specialist on that aspect. Is not that an easy to come to conclusion that he was wrong or right, the time will tell.

It is important to note that, even those super power will have different ideas on how to deal with the matter, for example UK and US have different ideas on how to handle Libyan conflict. All I want to say is that foreign policy is not something that any one can judge whether someone was wrong or right on face value. However what am certanly sure is the fact that there is a sense of something being right or wrong by considering what is called international community stand. In the question whether Tanzanian stand will make that difference I can't tell.

Comming back to presidency position there is feeling that Tanzania is leading to more democratic society where prisidence candidatae will have really to prove his suitability for the position.

Tanzania's foreign policy recently has been characterised by inconsistency and incoherence. It has lacked the clarity to make us know where we stood on matters of international concern to enable other countries relate to us with seriousness. Our role as Africa's spokesman has diminished because we have been unable to maintain the respect of African countries.

Tanzania became a country that has reacted to given situations, rather than taking the initiative as it should and always been done. More so, vengeful considerations must not be the basis of our diplomacy.

The problems of drought-stricken areas of Africa will be given more attention and sympathy, and our best efforts will be made to assist in their rehabilitation within the limits of our resources.

Our membership of the United Nations Organisation will be made more practical and meaningful. The call for a new International Economic Order which lost its momentum in the face of the debt crisis will be made once again.

Tanzania hereby makes a renewed request to the Non-Aligned Movement with China's rising to challenge America(UNIPOLARISM) to regroup and reinvigorate its determination to restructure the global economic system, while we appeal to the industrialized nations to positively consider the debt plight of the developing countries and assist in dealing with the dangers that face us. We shall remain members of the various multilateral institutions and inter-governmental organisations which we belong to and do what must be done to enhance the membership and participation within them.

Guys,this country has had since independence a history mixed with turbulence and fortune. We have witnessed our rise to greatness, followed with a decline to the state of a bewildered nation. Our human potentials have been neglected, our natural resources put to waste or looted by those who had been given mandate to govern. Corruption,Impunity and lack of clarity internally and Abroad through our Embassies is the order of the day.We should establish clear mechanism for Tanzania investment Center and our Foreign offices to Design our Policy in to an Economic Diplomacy.We lack special think tank,rather an Independent one for our national Security council,A phenomenon of constant insecurity and overbearing uncertainty has become characteristic of our national existence.

Now, We recognise that a government, be it civilian or military, needs the consent of the people to govern if it is to reach its objective. We do not intend to rule by force. At the same time, we should not be expected to submit to unreasonable demands. Fundamental rights and civil liberties will be respected, but their exercise must not degenerate into irrational expression nor border on subversion.

The War Against Indiscipline will continue, but this time, in the minds and conduct of Tanzanians, and not by way of symbolism or money-spending campaigns. Citizen Diplomacy
