He is nerdy looking and the chicks in here are swooning over him? Wow! Amazing
NN don't kid yrself the chicks dig the looks, it's all about the power of the high rollers.
Remember biggie, "black and ugly as ever, however coogi down to the socks".
It's all about your power money and respect, you can be the ugliest most nerdy looking guy in the room, as long as you have money power and respect the chicks will run to you.
Thats whats up in here.
William acha ujuaji wa usivyovijua!
Boston imekujaje? Jamaa amesoma (CSB St. John's) Minnesota na George Mason (Virginia). Soma hapa.
Kwa maoni yako huyu alitakiwa kufanya kazi wapi ili ofisi isijae the Malecelas? this is a joke or what mtoto mmoja anfanya kujaa ofisi nzima?Halafu usiseme Foreign wanafuata merits kwenye ajira.

Ana experience gani huyo mtoto right out of school kupewa uofisa hapo ubalozini, tena medani ambayo hajasomea ya sheria, kama sio u-Malecela? Sema kama naongopa!
Halafu kuna huyo Mrs. Malecela hapo. Si kweli?
Unataka kubisha, William, kwamba kuna multiple Malecela's hapo ubalozini New York? Hakuna Mrs. Malecela na Ms. Malecela hapo UN? ...Si kweli?
Wapo
January has the stars aligned, which could be a blessing and a curse.
1. To start with he has the "right" surname, not to tarnish his brightness, lakini tuna watu bright wangapi Tanzania na hawapati hata nafasi za kutoa michango yao? Let's face it, January is relatively bright, some would even say brilliant by Tanzanian standards, lakini kuna personal connection kati ya Kikwete na Makamba ina play part. Sitashangaa kama January anaandaliwa kwa ubalozi au ataenda kugombea ubunge sometimes and pull a "Mizengo Pinda" of sorts.
2. January has academic credentials, he went to some allright schools - I believe Minnesota and George Mason. So no one can say he is unqualified, which is a good thing. It is one thing to show favoritism to a qualified candidate, and quite another to do the same to an unqualified candidate. Although favoritism is still favoritism by any tother name. His conflict resolution training, stints with refugees (UNHCR?) in Kigoma and fellowship at the Carter Presidential Center should have equipped him with a much needed global outlook, especially in the Kikwete Ikulu.
Interesting...but surely katika Ikulu iliyojaa watu wanao damage presidency ya JK na zaidi by certain top figures who i can rightly state are the most most stupid government officials ever to breathe, In fact i am talking about Luhanjo who is a Stalinist in outlook, totalitarian by instinct, reactionary by nature, arrogant in character.3. This guy used to be very progressive in his outlook, but as with all "revolutionaries" who start out with a brilliant vision to implement, he has cooled off and is continually surrendering his passion to the status quo. Indeed he is becoming part of the status quo. In any case I believe JK is better off with a young mind like January's if only to utilize his voracious leadership and hence benefit from sound advise on current affairs and international relations. JK is an airhead and just as he needed Dim to show him the ropes at MOFA, he needs January to advice him in this internet age at Ikulu.
4. The one downside of January is that he fancy himself a policy wonk and as a result he comes off as arrogant. Just recently when he was with JK he almost created a diplomatic row by badmouthing Nigeria's export of oil while Nigerians lack oil, in an attempt to caution Kikwete and say openly that however the deal will unfold Tanzania will not tolerate leaving it's people hungry while exporting food. This statement is both good and bad, it is good to know that at least he was thinking this way and he got to air this concern at a time where Kikwete was probably giggling and smiling ready to sign all documents without laying down serious policy positions. It is bad because it was very undiplomatic and had it been made in an environment where the press was active it could have escalated matters to the level of a public apology.Apart from his experience January showed that he is still a rookie by trusting a "journalist friend" with his private views, only to read them on the papers the next day. A simple "Tanzania will not export food while it's people are lacking" without badmouthing Nigeria and creating a potential row would have sufficed.
Interesting lakini usisahau kuwa Tanzania used to be governed by the Establishment, a network of people who knew each other (often through family) and largely shared the same social background, education and values. These values were pre-eminently colonial: their best qualities were public service and incorruptibility, their worst were amateurism and snobbery. Their values were very strongly enforced - the former PM bwana SOKOINE who rejected them, was left to dry at the Establishment's behest na hilo halna ubishi hata kidogo.
Pua tunajua kuwa for about a 30 years tangu tupate uhuru this Establishment and its values dominated the governance of Tanzania through its grip on its major institutions, the home and overseas civil service, the armed forces, the judiciary and the Dar es salaam city (before deregulation). They were buttressed by the Nyerere's presidency, the churches, and most of the state owned media.
Although they dominated the political system, they regarded politics as a duty, rather than a career: indeed kila mmoja wetu anajua kuwa for most of the twentieth century it was almost impossible to make a living out of politics alone. People went into politics to represent their class or their locality, and they kept strong personal links with the interests in civil society which they represented....they are many the Mwinyi's, The SYKES,the KARUMES, the MALECELAS and so on...so its not January's fault to be born a Makamba and i am sure January is a million times better than Salva and the other mediocre bunch ambao wako pale lakini wanachokifanya hakieleweki.
He has the academic credentials even though he didn't go to those red brick institutions. Can you enlight what you really mean by allright schools..and certainly January doesn't have a MICKEY MOUSE DEGREE like the other lot at Magogoni.
Interesting...but surely katika Ikulu iliyojaa watu wanao damage presidency ya JK na zaidi by certain top figures who i can rightly state are the most most stupid government officials ever to breathe, In fact i am talking about Luhanjo who is a Stalinist in outlook, totalitarian by instinct, reactionary by nature, arrogant in character.
so its its obvious the main glimmer of HOME mle ndani ni January Makamba
At least January had some guts. Hell, to me January thinks like Leo Mc Garry, decides like Sam Seaborne, acts like Tobby Ziegler, sharp as Will Bailey and could probably hoop like Charlie Young and actually fits well with Jakaya Kikwete as his chief of staff.
Mpaka inafikia January Kusema aliyosema its because of those DINOSAURS waliojazana mle ndani and also because they live in a sealed world - like astronauts on an alien planet, moving along airlocked passages between a series of domes: party machines: "think-tanks"; Parliament; government; MAGOGONI bureaucracy; lobbying; consultancies; media, all within the giant dome of IKULU. iTS also a known fact kuwa form a self-admiring, self-promoting coterie and although they can plot viciously against each other they protect each other equally fiercely from any attack or criticism from the outside world.
Like all inhabitants of a sealed world, the hawa wazee from certain Political Class behave very oddly mle ikulu. Ohhh how can we forget how they routinely abuse power, lie and suppress and manipulate the truth...kutuambia everything was fine while we all knew nothing was fine when WAZEE wa EAST AFRICA were not paid. Yes those mediocre wonks mle ndani never admit error or failure, they always shuffle responsibility onto someone else....jiuliza kwa nini mpaka leo rais hana website? And no January isnt part of this lot I am talking about. Wenyewe wanajijua kwani this is one of their favorite hang out.

5. There are some concerns about his drinking habit and his newly minted marriage that borders on the ethics of leadership, but I would deem some of these rather private for now.The guy is just an aide, presidential or not.
