Why dont we treat a [service] as class? then we gonna have the relation that user adds a service.. The system is gonna admin who can delete data? dont u think that is dangerous? i suggest users can admin their own data, it will be better ethical. Then unless therez a sort of violation the the 'below' can serve as a solution:

And may be a separate system to handle admin of the system, or just having a sort of phpMyAdmin thing.

Sikuelewa hasa hiyo service class sababu hukuweka nyama nayama zake. Now i get you. Lakini hata mimi nimefikiria hiyo ya USer kumanage data zai ndio maana kwenye Class ya registered user kuna method or operation ya edit profile..

So depending how big it will be basi inaweza kuwa independent class au inaweza kuwa ni operation/method inayofanyika ndani ya one of the class. ?

So if Service is a classt hen edit, delete, update can be attrbutes na getuserprofile() ,updateuserofile(), deleteuserprfifile() ziitakuwa method?

Kwa wasio na nafasi lakini mnapenda kuchangia michango yenu, elimu yenu na na mawazo yenu yanakaribishwa hata mkiwa nje ya Team.

My fear for this project is that the team has missed a trick. In this and many forums there has been a steady query of how ICT can better the life's of Tanzanians and the initial aim that was raised here was to focus minds in putting together a tool that can demonstrate the prowess of ICT newcomers as well as veterans to show us what they can come up with. There are many tools and services that would be required to be developed or customized for our market area and this was a good opportunity to start putting forth ideas and solutions that can start addressing these issues. For this project to fail it will not indicate that there is no appetite to learn and to collaborate in software development efforts but it failing at the first hurdle will be a real shame.

As the nominated "client" for this project I feel that the missed trick was in documentation and the assumption that there will come a time that developers will flock here with code and solutions once the design was agreed. As a profession, it should be stressed that documentation is key. This should be done logically and should always try and use tools suggested by the commentators here at least to show the contributions made are being taken into consideration and noting that this is a learning project, these tools were the areas the contributors wanted new knowledge to be gained by the team players. All developers even coders need to participate in the document development for I don't know of any job situation/organisation situation where the coders just sit there waiting for documents and they will crack on with the code.

The project scope and aim was very simple, and fear of re-inventing the wheel came up a few times in the discussions. There are many templates available for this kind of requirement but since it was felt that learning was paramount, then, the project could be written from scratch where possible. This approach even though could add learning value is not necessarily the best one to follow since there are platforms that have been developed that will cover the bulk of the development headache i.e. security and wanting to start this from scratch is really not advisable, Take up the platform/development environment that covers that and any other critical aspect of the application and concentrate on the presentation and data management of the app but don't start from scratch. The learning from such tools in my opinion allows for productivity to commence from day one while still giving you opportunity to learn and understand why/how they went with such design in the platform. For those learning ICT this is crucial since opportunity to exercise your knowledge on something sizeable can only be achieved by collaborating with others.

The other day I looked at the site announced by the Higher Education Loans project as the new tool to address loan application and management OLAS Welcome (in my humble opinion, very amateurish) and I felt that we in this field have a major road to cover to be taken seriously in business circles. If this is the output of the IT department of this organisation then bado safari ni ndefu sana.

I am very eager for this project to come through since I already have an application in mind that needs a write-up and am hoping the team here will be in a position to assist in its development. To start off though, can we redraw the project say to better what OLAS Welcome is offering?

btw, anyone familiar with that HESLB application process? What functionality apart from filling in your details in the forms is that website offering? Can you track your application as it meanders its way through the bureaucrats or is it the same thing, print multiple copies of it, ipeleke kwa mjumbe wa nyumba kumi kumi, ipeleke kijijini kupata mhuri and the like... have they done away with the Ujamaa stages that deprive many from accessing the loans?
