A serious road accident occurred on Thursday evening, July 16, 2026, involving children from King David Junior School in Ndejje, Uganda involving a school bus which crashed at around 8:00PM in Kapchorwa District claiming 24 lives mainly pupils and leaving many injured.
Claim:
A viral screenshot originating from X(formally twitter) and video of a grieving man are circulating online, with captions alleging that he lost four children in a tragic school bus accident.
Some posts further claim that he himself also died shortly after the incident.
Findings:
JamiiCheck, through the use of Google Lens and verification tools, found out that the viral screenshot and video of a grieving man have been miscontextualized and falsely linked to a tragic school bus accident.
Initial Circulation: The footage first appeared between July 4–9, 2026 on Facebook and TikTok, showing the man in distress and yet the accident happened on July 16,2026.

Misconception & Recirculation: Around July 17–18, 2026, the screenshot resurfaced and went viral globally. On X (formerly Twitter) with captions falsely claiming the man lost four children in a bus accident.
Verdict:
The claim is false and misleading.
The grieving man’s video was taken earlier in a different context and has no connection to the alleged school bus accident.
