Tunachokijua(What We Know).
Uganda's Chief of Defence Forces(CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has been engaged in a public feud since late August 2026 with his brother-in-law, Odrek Rwabwogo, over the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development (PACEID).
Gen Muhoozi has made a series of real, verifiable posts on X threatening to arrest Rwabwogo and PACEID staff, including lines like "As Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I will arrest the criminal Odrek soon and bring peace to our people."
The tension spiked when Matthew Bagonza, PACEID's head of secretariat and Rwabwogo's longtime personal assistant, was taken into custody by security operatives, with Muhoozi posting inflammatory remarks and images regarding the detention.
Claim.
The screenshot circulating on Tiktok attributes a quote to Gen Muhoozi: "I wanted to take off my step mother, she was siding with odrek. If she dares support him again, I shall arrest her too."
Findings.
JamiiCheck Found out that the statement Contradicts Muhoozi's actual Posts: Muhoozi has publicly said there are only four people in Uganda he cannot arrest his father, President Museveni; his mother, First Lady Janet Museveni; his uncle, Gen Salim Saleh; and his aunt, Jovia Saleh. This directly contradicts the screenshot's claim that he threatened to arrest her.
None of the multiple news outlets covering this feud in detail (Daily Monitor The Observer, Chimp reports, New Vision) report any statement from Muhoozi about arresting his mother/stepmother. His documented threats target Rwabwogo and PACEID staff specifically.
Verdict: FALSE / Fabricated
The screenshot does not appear to originate from Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba's genuine X account
