From Adv. Peter Kibatala,
Greeetings Brethren.
I have the honour to announce that My Client, Jonas Afumwisye Mwangunga, who had been detained at the Central Police Station since his arrest on Friday 26th August 2022 at his Residence in Goba, Ubungo District, Dar es Salaam has been released on Police Bail today Wednesday 31st September 2022.
We had filed an Application of Harbeas Corpus (which is judicial tool for compelling authorities who unlawfully hold a person to either release them on Bail, or arraign them in Court per the law) and the same has been assigned to Hon. Mruma, Judge and was scheduled for Orders on 5th September 2022.
In the meantime; we will zealously and unrelentingly pursue Mr. Jonas' Appeal against the termination of employment, which We considers unjust, unlawful and unwarranted, in the Public Service Commission. The Appeal has been duly filed with the Commission in its Dodoma Headquarters, and served to TRC in its Dar es Salaam Headquarters, per dictations of Appelate Rules.
We will provide further details.
I may add; Mr. Jonas has a very sharp brain and is strong and steadfast and We are very proud to represent him.
