Both Uhuru and raila were pinned down over their utterances on campaign trail by the moderator kaikai Linus............this was on party politics pegging temporary political parties against the philosophy of the political parties including their ideologies.

Kaikai raised the issue of tribal blocks as a means to secure power and its potential to perpetuate tribalism................

here is Uhuru's take:-

Jubilee focuses on issues not personalities. And Jubilee aims to bring all Kenyans together...

here is Raila's take:-

He is not a party hopper and LDP was just transforming itself into various forms whether from kanu, narc, and now ODM it is still the same thing even in CORD..........and ODM still the same!

my take:-

both uhuru and raila were burying their heads in the sand. Tribalism is their source of political legitimacy to power and should have admitted to it.

However Raila lost this one because he was on denial over being a party hopper. Legally speaking, LDP is neither NARC nor ODM not even CORD........................these contraptions have different locus standi before the law..............so Raila just like his character is demonstrative he is not a truth teller........

On Issues of ICC Raila claimed to support the local tribunal but martha karua tore down to his deception...........karua made it abundantly clear raila had a bone to pick with ICC indictees when she revealed Raila did not marshal and whip his parliamentary majority to support local initiative. Raila defended himself that he had lost control of almost a half of ODM parliamentarians to William Rutto and hence his powerbase had slipped from his ironcald hands!

Uhuru raised 3 issues:-

1) Constitutionally speaking he is innocent till proven otherwise.

2) It is Kenya people who will determine his political fate and their own destiny on march 4th.

3) Matters of ICC were personal and all presidential candidates have personal issue to contend.............

Still i hard no trouble to give this round to uhuru muigai kenyatta because Raila was not forthcoming on his role to delegate Kenyan sovereignty to this colonial tool called ICC........It is the equivocation that has landed Raila into trouble once again!

Raila admitted he had lost the battle of the kalenjin vote to Ruto this too undermines his leadership qualities........

On image of Kenya uhuru was on all out attack at Raila for fanning post election violence after 2007 elections. uhuru reiterated his stance that it was a refusal to accept the election verdict or going to courts which fanned the said violence. Now the judiciary has been reformed no repeat of post election violence of 2007 ought to be entertained or tolerated at all......

On the same topic Raila urged voters to make an informed choice of the presidential candidates...........

my take:-

Raila sidestepped the issues and handed uhuru an easier victory in this round because the issue was Kenyan image portrayed abroad and nothing else........

On the Migiro boundary dispute with Uganda Uhuru called for boundary identification and dermacations and the legal instruments lodged with UN to avoid future conflicts.

ironically, Raila despite his ethnic based in Luo Nyanza where this island is located he failed to advance new way of resolving the matter and he squandered the opportunity by spending a lot of precious time defending his record as premier. He intoned about steps his government had pursued through formation of a joint committee with Uganda but did not share the outcome of those negotiations beyond lauding Uganda as a peaceful nation as if he was insinuating Kenya was not!

my take:-

uhuru won the round because he was on attack and Raila failed to grasp the moment and answer the charges of incompetence uhuru had alleged against him........That those steps Uhuru had recommended ought to have been finished by now given the time the boundary conflict has been permitted to smoulder.........

When Julie Gichuru took over from Linus Kaikai the stewardship of moderation of this auspicious presidential debate questions from the well handpicked audience had ranged from insecurities, education and health services dominated the debate.

uhuru looked at insecurity as a sign of resource maldistribution while Raila blamed traditional way of living like pastoralism and climatic change as culprits!

On education Uhuru sought solace from jubilee manifesto that aimed to cut government waste and invest in education. Some of instances where the fat was, according to uhuru was travel, vehicle expenses among others..............

Raila craved for absolutely free education for all and lowering transitional rates from one level of education to the other.

Over health services, both Uhuru and Raila had little to contribute because time allocated to them was insufficient to address the mammoth of subjects in front of them.

my take:-

The devil is in the detail. it is easier for Uhuru or Raila to raise the issues they had raised but the questions of how and when such proposal would be implemented were not adequately dealt with. here, a draw is perhaps the best justice for both of them.........since nobody between them assessed who were the losers of their proposals.........I believe to every gain there is a loser if not losers.......there is no gain without pain........neither of them wanted to displease his voting constituent with bad news I suppose................

They are both son's of political dynasties, one being the son of a former president and the other the son of a former vice president. We all know their last names have played a great role in getting them to where they are today but my question is, who has proven more that they are actually capable and not where they are today simply because of the families they are born into?

Raila alikuwa ni kipenzi cha wakenya 2007, KOSA KUBWA ALILOFANYA KIBAKI NI KUINGIA KWENYE SERIKALI YA KIBAKI IKAWA RAHISI KWA WAKENYA KUJAJI HIS COMPETENCE AND WEAKNESSES KWA URAHISI ZAIDI.

Raila has lost the whole of original pentagon group to uhuruto's jubilee. And the practical reason for this is ODM then was not driving the party and giving it a national outlook. The tribal components within ODm were keen on maintaining the party's tribal identity, in other words they were keen on luonization of the outfit.

It will be difficult for ODM to say it represents or has the national outlook, because Kalonzo is a self-seeker, wetangula as a lone-ranger for the luhya endorsement in bungoma and western will struggle as the climax and the voice of western politics is currently driven by new ford kenya and amani coalition. Cyrus Jirongo is not a politician that can successfully campaign on his own, as he has to depend on the euphoria intensive mass-campaigns of CORD to secure election. In fact in the media very little political or leadership relevance is associated with him and there have been no opinions from where he comes from

Kabaridi next jubilee is in Nyanza. Raila is now sleepless...............to pre-stage a chaos and blame it on Jubilee..

makavulaivu hiyo tunaita uroho wa madaraka na sasa malipo yake yamefika..................

MwanaFalsafa1 only kenyan voters have an answer to that.........I believe uhuru is a man to beat now.

rutta I remember when certain candidates in luo nyanza started campaigning they were either butchered and killed, rumuors were that TNA agents or other powerful forces had a hand in the killings. It is is easy to create a string of deceptions to cover their deeds. what CORD is forgetting is that Kenya combined is bigger than luo nyanza in terms of acreage. So it will be easy for CORD to become unpopular and loss ground in nyanza simply because of these acts.

A simple reconciliation will do, if not the revolts we saw in kendu-bay and the heckles in homabay are signs of smoke leading to a fire

Ruta: Umeona jinsi kipenzi chako Uhuru Kenyatta anavyosaidiwa na powerfull forces in government, kama Mkuu wa Utumishi wa Umma Fransis Kimemia DG wa NSIS Major-General Gichangi,Mkuu wa Majeshi Karangi, sasa mbinyo umezidi ukimtaka Kimemia to resign from the office

Now it is apparent after all is said and done that reality is taking center stage and a historic showdown election is around the corner. Historic in the sense that sons of former post independence leaders are set on tight horse-race each seeking to take up the mantle as Kenya's 4th president. Let us look at the strong points of each candidate based on the current events from their current campaign trails.

Raila's campaign has of late metamorphosed into a trail of dubious propaganda and allegations system in addition to dragging offices that are not supposed to be political into contentious publicity in the media. Contrastingly, Uhuruto are painstakingly combining their efforts on uniting kenya to run on a common ground. In short Uhuruto pair have ignored propaganda and rhetoric as a means of achieving their long-term political ends.

Kenyan politics In the past has shown propaganda and rhetoric have very little effect in achieving political ends if any. The fact remains that rhetoric intensive campaigns successfully becomes entrenched as a way of life in urban areas than rural areas. political marketing has also its limitation in the Kenyan scenario because of various disparities in terms of development for the aspirants to contend with.

One thing is clear that unlike cord, uhuru's team have molded themselves into being strategists more than propagandists. It is clear that none of the two horses have or can declare that they the votes. Notwithstanding a rare and fateful anachronism in the ICCs campaign against Uhuruto has handed the pair a great tide of support from the Kenyan voters. This was determined when a group from the prosecutors declared that prosecution against the two would be "difficult". But the prosecution has maintained that the cases still remain relevant.

The situation acts as a lesson to any other future political player that they need be strategists within the Kenyan borders as opposed to outside. The Uhuruto team have deeply exploited this to their advantage and could it be an indicator that they are covering more ground, as suggested from the latest opinion polls?

Former US ambassador Micheal ranneberger in one of their released cables said that Uhuru is less-likely to be involved in crimes of corruption than Raila because of the wealth acquired by their father. A rather stinging statement from the same diplomat said that In terms of administration Raila is disorganized and is rather prone to corruption since before his office has been dis-reputed of graft activities.

So you are convinced that leaders cannot come from 'political dynasties' that is just like saying that future entrepreneurs have to be born in rich families to make it as entrepreneurs.

But yet again even if entrepreneurs that come from destitute families make it, there will be talk that they are either thieves or grabbers.

We all say what we are pleased to say, and like hearing what we like to hear as something that is convenient to our conceptions
