Depression is a disease for the "wealthy".
Depression is a problem of people who have a high social economic status.Studies show there is a 25% increase in suicide rate in US.But in all fairness, hata watu wasio maarufu na wasio na mafanikio hujiua pia.
Ahahaha!! Bro hii ndio huwa inanifanya naamini solid depression and killer anxiety vinakuwinda sana.Hahahaaa jamaa pumbavu sana. Katika akili yake ya kisoda alidhani kanikamata!
Huwa siandiki kwa kubahatisha mimi.
This is so close to home for me.
I watched his shows, pretending I could visit all those places one day,set the introvert in me aside for a few weeks.
He did the traveling for me. I was like, I could watch this guy and capture the essence of distant places through his lens.
Of course it was not the same as being there, but an acceptable substitute given the demands on my time.
The guy was quirky brilliant in an original way, in a refreshing IDGAF way. He once asked if tourism was destroying the mores of a people who were made to depend on it,becoming a tourist attraction version of themselves rather than their real selves, for the sake of economic gain. That was a penetrating and difficult question given the dynamics, not only of the people asked (who needed the money, and therefore the question may have proved an existential one) and to the questioner (had it not been for that tourism culture opening upfar flung places worldwide, would his show even be possible?)
That was Anthony Bourdain, he was enjoyable even at his quirkiest.
Now this.
This is close to home for me.
I had a very close friend of mine named Anthony who committed suicide around this time of the year, many years ago.
Brilliant guy too.
Now another Anthony is gone.
May all beings attain enlightenment.

In shit hole countries like TZ depression is not yet a public health problem. We are more concerned with poverty and starvation.

Hahahaaaa oh man oh man!
Thread inamhusu Anthony Bourdain but somehow inageuzwa inakuwa inamhusu Ngabu.
They must love me even if they deny it.
So it goes with the territory, I guess.
There is NO FECKING WAY he killed himself!! He may have had issues with depression, but he LOVED life and what he was doing with it. Sorry, not buying it, just like I’m not buying the Kate Spade “suicide”Depression is a problem of people who have a high social economic status.Studies show there is a 25% increase in suicide rate in US.

Depression is a diasease of affluence. When you are hungry you can not have the luxury of being depressed.Yes we have suicide & depression in tanzania but not to the extent of the rates seen in western world.haitoshi mkuu, kusema kuna increase rate of suicide, hujasema why na ilitoka ngapi mpaka ngapi...pia Waziri Ummy alitangaza 1 in 4 people in Tanzania experience mental health difficulty in which depression is included....

poverty and starvation cannot lead to depression?
