Liberia's former President Charles Taylor has been found guilty of aiding and abetting war crimes in Sierra Leone's civil war by a UN-backed court in The Hague. Taylor first came to prominence in 1989 when he started a rebellion against Liberia's then President Samuel Doe. Pictured is a rebel loyal to Taylor next to the skull of one of Mr Doe's soldiers.
