A FIRST year student with the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA), Mr Noel Mike, died on Monday, after a car he was traveling in was involved in an accident.
The Acting Regional Police Commander, Mr Akili Mpwapwa, said Nike (24) was riding in a Mazda car with registration numbers T868-AZC, driven by his fellow student Mr Kelvin Martin John (23).
Mr Godwin Mponda, another IAA student, was hurt in the accident and his condition was until yesterday reported to be bad and was transferred from West Meru hospital to the Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre.
The car they were travelling in collided head-on with a Toyota Land Cruiser registration T686 AAP at Shambarai section of Usa-River area in Meru District.
A 65-year-old Mr Kakunda Mollel, a resident of Kimandolu, was driving the Land-Cruiser which was heading for Moshi, while the students came from the opposite direction.
Police reports indicate that Mike died on spot.
