Hallo pals, i got another response from Strong technologies, just check below and give your views/input regarding specifications you require apart from DVB-S2+DVB-T2.

We have a combo receiver (SRT 4915) that we hope, soon enough, it will be introduced to the Kenyan market.

Having said that, and to be sure we are offering the right product, kindly help us defining the specifications you look forward to find in such decoder.

with the introduction of dvb-t2 pay TV, I would very much like those receivers to have upgradeable software 'patch' so that we can be able to unlock the such of g*TV, b*MBA, and even the st*rtime terrestrials package.

Lovely, update-able software they would definitely have but would they want to the other part of your suggestion? I doubt. Even the patches for other receivers that have those capabilities do not come from them.

The SRT 4915 by Strong Technologies should be power vu compliant & equally have VPN for data compression for IPTV. Also pls tell them to release power vu software for SRT 4950 series as they have done for SRT 4922 because we are still waiting!

PowerVu is a conditional access system which is meant to barr unauthorized viewing of the content from the broadcaster to the end user.

They told me that srt 4915 does not have LAN specification simply because it is a paired CONAX decoder. So i suspect it is meant for pay tv companies from Nigeria/Ghana.

Here is the mail from their regional sales manager,

Thank you for your reply.
This is a CONAX pairing receiver and that's why the LAN was not incorporated in this device.

Please be sure that what you have mentioned earlier will be taken into consideration while designing our next combo receiver.
