Hi wakariru,
Your srt 4950H will sure revive. All you need to do is get an empty usb disk or format one. REMEMBER, it has to be empty. Halafu follow the simple steps outlined below on how to resurrect a 4950H.
Its that simple.

For strong 4950H:
1.Get an empty USB stick,
2.Go to SRONG official website www.strong-technologies.com
3.Search and Save SRT 4950H software under USB(empty) flash drive and rename it as "ROM". I said "ROM" only. The receiver will auto detect it as "rom.bin"
4. Insert the USB into receiver.
5.Switch main power ON while pressing several times (2 or 3 times) the POWER button on remote control. Ensure the reciever is PROPERLY connected to the mains power.
6.The Receiver will auto detect the software and download it.
7.WARNING: Restore Factory default settings.
8.finally, let us measure your success rate.

Plus if you so wish Google "crosat" and PATCH your stb with the latest sofware to enjoy the famed Digit*rk. Remember to unzzip the same.

It is my humble request that we keep the forum apolitical (which it has been thus far) or inclined to balkanize or stereotype certain individuals or regions, more so on matters relating to terrorism which is a global problem. I have already seen snippets of posturing and digging in of positions in that second post by the new member from Garissa (I think he goes by the moniker smashjeryus): something to the effect they may be in those not so safe areas but they enjoy life nevertheless.

My point? Let's keep this a tech forum......just my thought.

The beauty of all all STRONG Decoders is that they have an "afterlife"

For SRT 4950M:

1.Begin by downloading Legal software "SRT4950_SRT4950M_V2.26-20131218.bin" from official www.strong-technologies.com website

2.Rename it "rom.bin" and follow the method provided earlier.

WARNING: Always remember to restore your stb to factory default settings after every

(b)software downgrade
(c)software patching.

yes u can...signal so Strong it would take u around 10 mins alone... lnb placed about 25-30 cm from the 7e lnb downwards

Quite hard to do so.....even on a 240cm dish the only channel you going to receive is SAYARE on 3956R 1500 on 10E as the offset lnb
