African Satellite World and Sat Gear

yes ruffcast, i was able to record these channels. What's intriguing is that the recorded .ts file is much smaller than would be expected if the Transport Stream (.ts) was unscrambled, e.g. a 59 seconds recording was only 8.2MB.
So what's "l'etape suivante"?

Excellent Job!..what receiver are you using??... so anyway now there are 3 popular software utilities used to extract the Biss keys out of these .ts files.

  • CUDABISS
  • CSA-Rainbow-Table-Tool
  • CW Brute Force

the latter takes quite a considerable amount of time, since it has to try all number of possible combination. before it eventually finds a working Biss Key.

The utilities are available for free download on the internet. ..use Google to search and download

in western kenya ses 5 is on top of 7w i have to lift the dish up.how do i go about it?

Normally SES5 is at a higher elevation than 7w and thats why you place the LNB on the arm, you wont get maximum signal though, and some tps might not pop up.
Other option is to make ses5 the main Lnb and have 7w lnb suspended above it.(not sure of 7w signal on a 90cm dish)

I nab the two really
without much issue but the dish has to be perpendicular tho the ground. I
use 7w as main lnb and 5e as the secondary slightly below the main lnb
on the arm.

picture please,i wanna try, but i wonder why ses5 5dgr East, below 7w 7dgr west.

Exactly my predicament in Kericho, ses 5 i get it at 60 mark while nilesat at 30 mark on the 90cm dish

same marking in kitale i dont want to buy a 90cm dish because of ses 5 anyone who has the trick please post a photo

I use(d) a Starsat SR-2000HD HYPER. I'll try out these options tomorrow and will report back.

Sawa sawa, try and upload the file on to Google drive,4shared ,dropbox etc..I would also like to have access to it and see if I could decrypt it too.

In other sat news migration from Eutelsat 7A to 7 B has started. Azam package has already migrated to 7B a its reception pretty strong... I'm guessing other pay TV like digi**** and others would be migrating to this newer satellite. and hopefully the signal would be easier to receive here in east Africa..

lets keep our fingers crossed. and hope for the best.

Compare the 2 downlink Europe B beams of Eutelsat 7A @ 7° East and the new Eutelsat 7B @ 7° East.
If DigiTurk migrates to the new satellite, it will be a challange to get the package.
The "lobe" that has been extending downwards up to northern Kenya is absent in the new beam.
Let's wait and see.

Thanks for the insight dejumbo..Just had a close look at this and it seems like we in East Africa stand to lose with this on going .
migration.

Actually the first image you have posted is the European Beam A foot print.. the one we are usually concerned with European Beam B. ( the one that has Digi*****)

This is the new foot print of European beam B from Eutelsat 7B

E7B_Ku-band_EuropeB_Downlink.jpg

AS you can see the edges of the foot print are further up in North Africa.

Compare this and the current European B foot print from Eutelsat 7A

Current European B foot print fom 7A.jpg eutel7a_eurb.jpg

So in summary it appears that we may soon lose the goodies from Digi***, unless we acquire bigger dishes.

@msondaa I think they would decommission 7A..
I'm saying this because the foot prints of the 2 sats are rather similar.

On the upside the africa beam on the new Eutelsat 7e 7B will be receivable on a 65 cm offset
as it is with SES 5.

Morning mrmwash, my location is Nairobi and my dish size is 130cm eurostar and GT-SAT quad lnb(GT-QD40D). Samson twin also performs well but one am using gives slightly good results than samson on weak signals

hey there, where can I get that gt-sat lnb? pm me pliz
