I have a 90cm dish and want to get FTA channels,i have an LG Tv with inbuilt satellite decoder i am in Nairobi, Embakasi area anyone to help me find the satellite, someone did for me bu can only watch CCTV channels

As from 11am the two channels went offair we are only left with Optima sports,IRIB Package,Muvi TV,Oromia Tv,ORTB,UBC,Evasion Tv,RTVGE,RTS,ORTM & the d*g*trk package

SABC's are scrambled on my end. My Astrovox says TV Congo on Astra 4A(that is SES 5 in kenyan money), 12053V/SR-29948 but not as clear as SABC. I was in panic mode,almost dashing onto the roof! :mod: I have never had luck with Oromia TV :nono:. the one on nile sat at least. are they broadcasting differently? This one and the one everyone quotes as showing epl, and now W/Cup?

Hi, with that you can get Nilesat goodies on 7 w or maybe even combine with 8 w....basically there are some possibilities to explore...so much more,for free

I have a similar if not the same TV (32LN540U) and I receive several channels spread over 4 satellite dishes but I use a satellite finder to track them. As advised start with 7W then you can add another LNB below it and get SES5 (4.9E).

Mine are now encrypted and am left with Muvi TV which is not so clear compared to SABC1. I have dishes pointing to 7E - african beam, 7/8W, 36 E and SES5. what channels are on this with better quality?

He put in a chinese backdoor! :shocked: What format does the in-built satellite decoder support? DVB-S? DVB-S2? what? post the specs and/or the tv model so someone can look it up and advise.

Never mind about the posting of model etc. seems like it has a decent receiver/decoder. Might not be HD/DVB-S2 compliant but you will still get many stations. Just do a firmware update from the manufacturer's website, and follow fellow forum members' advice. there is a whole world out there, not just 36E

The decoder supports formats DVB-S,DVB-S2,MPE-4 HD,i think the satellite location s what he didn't get right. The decoder window gives several satellites and the transponders anyone who can track to satellite

Oromia tv on Amos 5 isthe one airing WC, the other one on Nilesat is not.

Satellite Finder / Dish Alignment Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com This is for nairobi,generally. you will have to re-orient your dish to point due West. start by looking if there are no onstacles in that direction, from where your dish is mounted. Go to this site and find out where you are exactly and it will tell you where to point your dish.

Both C- and Ku-band? 51 TV Congo saved my skin yesterday. Although the Congolese cameraman:madgrin: shat his pants every time the Mexicans/Brazilians did anything interesting.
