So it seems all other national broadcasters will follow suit. The heritage tv picture quality is poor. But comparing it with the french channels on SES 5 like RTS, its miles ahead

1 - obstruction - what effect will 20 - 25% obstruction to the dish do to the reception - the thing is the best position I have for a 1.8 m dish will have a 20-25% obstruction. will this cause major reception decline ? if I go for a smaller dish I don't see an obstruction possibility.

2 - if I go for a smaller dish will I be able to do Bein sports package with it bcoz someone is gifting me with the decoder soon.

3 - I have seen more than one LNB on a dish. where do all these connected cables go ?(different receivers or they enter a common connector b4 going to the single receiver).

It's good to have a new bro join the family, u r very welcome.
now to answer question number 3 - Those many cables from the lnbs are combined in one gadget called a Diseque Switch (2way, 4way, 8way & 16way) from there one cable runs to a supported Receiver e.g Strong srt 4922. I am using one with 8 ports. hope this is clear enough. good luck!:smile-big:

Thanks. I will need to buy the SRT 4922. Can SRT 4950H also work? I am using Astrovox which I think is very poor. I locked on Eutelsat 36A signal 50% but was surprised the decoder couldn't find any signal! Gave up till I get a better decoder.

Which satellite? I too bought this sometimes last week but yet to connect as my Astrovox decoder sucks!

Apart from the SABC 1 and 3.. which are part of the satstar package , the rest are part of Zuku Package.

Zuku is defiantly airing WC and KBC despite the court orders baring them to do so. I suspect they are angered by KBC's court action . but It would be interesting to see how this whole saga plays out.

and by the way judging by the quality of KBC video quality, it apears Zuku is also picking KBC signal via terrestrial analogue signal ,repackaging it under its bouquet before encoding and uplinking to SES 5
 
Hallo Pals, incase your strong 4922 is fried/bricked while in the process of updating software due to power failure,then one should not worry. The procedure is simple and straight forward. I happened to fry mine today but i was able to bring it back to life. So i have decided to share it with you guys.

PROCUDURE FOR RESURRECTING STRONG 4922 DECODER
1).Load the software into an empty flash disk.
2).Insert the flashdisk in the decoder while the decoder is switched OFF.
3).Switch ON the decoder using the power rear switch.
4).Keep on pressing channel up button in front of the decoder until a blue menu appears on the screen.
5).The blue menu will have four options namely;
i) Usb download (auto select)
ii)Usb download(browse)
iii)Factory reset
iv)Quit
6).Use the channel up/down button to select usb download(auto select) option & the press the front power button to select.
7).The file will start uploading, wait until it finishes & the decoder will reboot.
8).Congratulations, strong 4922 decoder back to life!!.

Hi,Mcjohn. I too have the same exact much hated Astrovox. I am on 5east for the world cup,Arabsat 5C for aljazeera etc, Nilesat/Eutelsat 7W and 8W for MBC et al. That is a total of 3 lnb's (Ku-C-Ku respectively). On a 5-port diseq switch. all work as advertised, including my Astrovox:majani7:. i use the ancient Technosat T888 Silver for signal detection😛eace:. While i have no dish pointed to the 36E sat, i doubt it that it is your Astrovox at fault here. Just go through your setup and make sure you have the correct ports on the switch turned on when the search is done. am assuming you have one and it is the one giving you grief.

That's the one I was using with similar results. The Fuji Quad increased to 73% and now opens almost all content rich tps 🙂 11678H is the weakest in the evenings at 56% and scratching but good during the day!
 
hi forum members?is anyone receiving MBC variety HD on which sat?currently on 7w n TOP movies is not showing?
