Just realized that 4950M has a blind search which is on the antenna settings, start search though there is no option of detailed search and fast search like the 4922

What is happening all latest patches for SRT4950M are not responding to Biss only the patch released in dec 2013 is responding.

Hi all. I read somewhere in the forum that one can use some model of STRONG receiver as a sat finder, but cannot locate the same page on searching. Request-would any of the gurus in the house remind me of the model and possibly its price?

That must be the SRT-4950M. it has a led on a cable. It changes colour as an indicator when you lock onto the signal. Price is a bit debatable. I think it is 6k in nairobery and 3.5k in Mombasa. Somebody that has actually bought it shuld chime in.

it depends on your location I got hold of two at dadaab post office after parting away with 2kg of Mirza on was stolen and sold kama scrap while away at job the other one is in oloitoktok waiting for me to go and pan it hope I ain't part of Anglo leasing

But while still on matters sat-finding, there are claims on another site (I will locate the URL) that some android powered smartphones currently in the market have sat finder apps. In the post, it was indicated that all you got to do is to point the phone anywhere in the sky and it would show you all the birds in that direction right on the screen. Anybody encountered this sort of gadget?

The app is from Satellite Finder / Dish Alignment Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com. I have no smart phone or ipad/iphone, so i have never used it. But i input my data on the said site on the pc :typing: and it does the math. It does not point me anywhere. The pc is dumb:laugh:.
