African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Hello WanaJamii been reading this thread for a while and i have a quick question. What would be the best Decoder for both AD and BeIN? i reckon the HUMAX IR300HD..but wouldn't mind an experienced view on the same. Also where in KE can i get this decoder.

Welcome Vipiwatakaje

Its impossible at the moment to have AD and BeIN on the same decoder as each of these packages work from provider authorised receivers and there is no receiver concurrently certified by both AD and BeIN.

I can hook you with one tell me how to send the adapter

Hi. If it is The Chief you want to hook up with the adaptor, he is divorced to the astrovox now:biggrin1:. It is me that needed it/posted asking him about it. After this reply, i will pm you. 😛eace:

After
two referrals, I finally visited Digital Life electronics on Kamae
Lane, Luthuli avenue. Its true the thyword decoder is found in this shop (the silver one at the bottom)
and @ Ksh12000. Only to find out today from
mtuko2, that it costs Ksh8000. I requested they
power it up and test it for me. First of all the DVBT-2 part. The thing
didn't seem to work with the antenna plugged in but interestingly after
the antenna jack was plugged into another STB, Sky life (Ksh3500) it
worked perfectly with a relatively strong signal quality. The antenna
was plugged in the thyword again and again No Signal. Now I know it has a
weak dvbt2 tuner. The Sky life is the STB at the very top of the pic.

The second part to be tested was the satellite part. After the jamaa
plugged in the F-Type connector, the thyword box switches itself off. It
was behaving like it was struggling to boot. Quickly I told him unplug
it (its obvious that his cable had a short circuit as many members can
testify). Surely after removing the F connector it came on again.

So I asked the guy what version DiSEqC it was, is it 1.0 or 2.0. It was
pretty clear to me he has never heard of anything like that. OK to make
things simpler I ask how many dishes can it handle? Still :der:.

So he calls the chick to help him out only for her to plug in the same
F-Type connector:der:. This is when I take the picture. That brown hand
you see on the decoders is the chic's hand while the blue thing in the
background is the jamaa's dust coat.

After this incident now the two sales persons are embarrassed and tell
me to come later. The chick even asks a nearby customer to help her
(maybe one of you guys?). The customer blatantly refuses (OK now I know
he is not one of you fellow members). Maybe its because they sell stuff
at exorbitant prices.

I ask if they have another decoder in stock which the replied yes.

So? Can you test it for me?
Please come back later they reply.
After this I visited Riwira only to find another chick:der:. I tell her
Wacha niongee na mzee? The Mzee, (many of you know him) tells me he has
never heard of such a decoder. Now he tries to read out loud to me the
features of an SRT4950 on display to see if he will get the term dvbs2
as well as dvbt2 written?

thanks for the correction. On my side, Eutelsat 7W, Nilesat 201, and Eutelsat 8W are all picking on the same lnb. Qtv on 11513V27500 also shows movies with english audio. I managed to combine nss 12, Africasat, astra 2f and amos 5 on 1.8m with africasat as the prime. Check the pic

Boss ugda it seems there are very many trees and matoke in your compound. Are you sure you are receiving the maximum signal levels with your setups under such vegetation?

Try visiting the main "Thy Word" distributing office at westlands. Maybe you will find a new working decoder there.
After several visits to that DigitalLife shop, I have realized that those ladies behind the counter have no idea on how the gadgets they sell work! Also, the Riwara shop owner most likely will be more interested in marketing his products only.

Thanks FTA-Nash. But right now I am looking for a Technosat HD MPEG4 receiver. From what I have noticed from my very first Technosat T888, these decoders are built with quality in mind plus ease of use and with an OSD that you can read from further away unlike the astrovox 9000. Plus it has the beeping sound thing, a feature that has made me not sell mine even after some offers. The only downside is that its an MPEG2 decoder.

Where can I get a Technosat HD MPEG4 receiver?
