hi everyone. am new to the forum but not a novice in snooping around and fishing for info on sat and all. This has led me into purchasing the latest strong srt 4950h and a 130cm offset dish. However, i run into problems on hunting or getting a signal. im getting a signal strength abv 80% but 0% signal quality. it has really frustrated me and evaded me in equal measure. i must confess am an amateur here.
i started wt the way the dstv dishes are aligned in my area(umoja2, nairobi) set my elevation to 88° n turned n turned till eternity. upto now sijafanikiwa. so am asking for your proffesional help or someone kindly recommend a pro/technician. am told SAT2 is in my area but dunno how to contact. special thanks to Luther(Klister)for his input
hi, i want to get nss12 but i don't know if you put neflon inside the c band or not, and direction of the wire of lnb. Help me please
You're most welcome to the forum sir. Feel at home, we're all here to learn from one another. SAT2, where art thou?
Indeed, for NSS12 C-band, the Teflon is required. As a rule, it's always required for circular (Right-R, and Left-L) polarized signals. For V & H signals, (such as those on Intelsat 20 Intelsat 20 at 68.5°E - LyngSat) it isn't required.
According to Satellite Finder / Dish Alignment Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com, the LNB skew should be set at 86.3degrees, that is around 3 o'clock position when facing the dish.
All the best.
Some forum members indicated that to track 10E C band (for kenyan mux) you need to remove the teflon, what is the reason for this since this is circular polarization.

Hi ASAS mates, anyone got the procedure of repairing an offset dish that has a bend ?
Can you confirm price and availability. This switch supports even DiseQC 1.2 whereby those receivers supporting up to 4 satellites can support more than 4 by applying the motorized settings using this type of swtch.
