Diseqc 1.1 has 8 ports for use !!!

CORRECTION:
Diseqc 1.1 actually supports 16 ports. I am currently using 1.1 with a 16 way Diseqc switch
made in china as per picture attached. I bought it locally here in Kampala at Master Electronics
on Bombo Road opposite KPC at 60K (UGX).

Thanks - but the file, downloaded from Strong's own website, is not in fact compressed, it is a *.bin file.

Unzip the file first.

Yay! After a marathon 10hrs, i managed to combine nilesat 7w and eutelsat 36e for a pal in Kapsabet. This is what i am tempted to call progress. 7w which is said to be strong in Kapsabet, evaded me for a good 6 hrs. I later learnt the dish had some dents that were giving me problems. Mwalimu msondaa has surely tutored me well! Big up man!

am using a diseqc switch with 8 ports, my receiver has an options of ports 1 to 8 only when i select ver 1.1, ill play around with it to see if theres more then update.

Hi, Satmates recieved my srt 4950H jana it's one sleek gadge. There no many software updates yet on crosat unlike for the srt 4922 yet but hope that will change. What I've noticed so far is there's improvements in signal quality as well as stability compared to 4922. Does anyone else have this reciever? Managed to connect my modem and my c**am account but the performance is not as good as the srt 4922. Anyone else experienced the same or am I doing something wrong?

Sorry but I beg to differ. This is not a matter of opinion. It is a fact that diseqc 1.1 in SRT 4922 supports up to 16 ports. So if you
have a diseqc with 8 ports, you will select only 8 ports and miss out on the extra 8 you would have added if you had
bought a 16 way diseqc switch.
Its like an 16 seater minivan. If you have only 8 passengers, you will still carry them and still have 8 extra empty seats.
This does not remove the fact that the minivan was made for 16 passengers.

Can you confirm price and availability.This switch supports even DiseQC 1.2 whereby those receivers supporting up to 4 satellites can support more than 4 by applying the motorized settings using this type of swtch.

hi everyone. am new to the forum but not a novice in snooping around and fishing for info on sat and all. This has led me into purchasing the latest strong srt 4950h and a 130cm offset dish. However, i run into problems on hunting or getting a signal. im getting a signal strength abv 80% but 0% signal quality. it has really frustrated me and evaded me in equal measure. i must confess am an amateur here.
i started wt the way the dstv dishes are aligned in my area(umoja2, nairobi) set my elevation to 88° n turned n turned till eternity. upto now sijafanikiwa. so am asking for your proffesional help or someone kindly recommend a pro/technician. am told SAT2 is in my area but dunno how to contact. special thanks to Luther(Klister)for his input

The satellite beam does not cover Africa,you can not get it here.There is a live stream of this channel at http://www.idmantv.az/canli/idman-canli.htm.You can watch live games on your pc with good Internet access.
